Hi, has anybody participated in the genetic testing program at City of Hope? I received an email for a study (free of cost) from their Precision Medicine offering free testing as part of their study.

Genetic Testing at City of Hope
I currently receive my triple therapy treatment at City of Hope in Newnan Georgia. I want to follow this thread. Just before going to City of Hope, I had similar testing done by a company called Tempus. The testing looks at family bloodline but also at other factors that could cause a mutation. In my case, the detailed report concluded no inherited defect, and no known medication for my specific mutation. Although I’m responding very well right now to triple therapy.
Hi akaipop3ps,
Yes I received the same e-mail just now. I am being treated at City of Hope L.A, previously at CTCA Goodyear Az.
I have been offered thisgenetis testic last blood draw, but been thinking about it becuse my Onc Doc at CTCA told me he was 99.9 % sure I would not see any mutations like BRCA mutation that woudl be treated differently. In any case, it could not hurt, so I will do it on my next visit Aug 4th. Of course , my DNA profile will forever be on foile in case i commit any crimes from now on..not going to doany crimes cuz i wont do the time! lol
Wings PCa Stage 4 -BUT I am currently 8 1/2 years in remission , PSA undetectable !!!
Are you really being treated by COH, 😇, seems you've been on a path that needs no treatment!!!👍
I hope My Lupron/Zytiga lasts as long as yours. Celebrating 1 year now.
Hi Terminal, I am not actively being treated at CoH for PCa as it is still in remission but I have seen couple of urologists there for my stricture condition. I also saw Dr. Droff but not on a regular basis, I was under her care when she was at USC.
Here's to 10 years. Might be a record. 😊
I got the same email.
I’m pretty sure this is the same genetics testing they gave me earlier this year.
There’s no reason not to do it. It’s free and only requires a blood draw or saliva sample.
Find out for sure you don’t have any known genetic markers instead of your ONCs estimate! 😆
I had none, btw.
I had Decipher testing n am glad I did. If I were u I would proceed w the test opportunities But see what testing they will perform. Here r some links that I have for genomic n germ line testing. Rick

For what it is worth, I was at City of Hope yesterday for blood work, MO check in, and #3 Docetaxel infusion, I inquired on this. I was told that normally they don’t go to the genetic type testing until the initial front line treatments have failed. For me this is triple therapy. I already had this done elsewhere so perhaps that was also a factor.
