Hi Gents,
I have been experiencing excessive tearing as a SE from Docetaxel. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist, but it’s over one month away.
If you have experienced this SE, what helped the issue? All I am doing now are warm compresses and Vaseline around my eyes for dry skin.
Thanks so much! Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I had tearing and sinus drainage related to loss of eyelashes and nasal hairs.

Same here; runny nose and runny eyes. Gradually improved as eyelashes and nose hairs came back.

It’s not an unusual side effect. It usually goes away within a month or so after your last treatment.
I’m 6 weeks out. Still have muscle aches and slight loss of taste. Give it a couple of months and most SE’s resolve. The neuropathies take longer.

I’m at the same place as you. Some days the tearing is really bad. Not much neuropathy. Thanks!

Yea, the tearing stopped last week. One day I noticed it was gone!
Hang in there!

Mine wasn't tearing, it was runny nose and I had to carry a kleenex with me for a couple of weeks. (Things they don't tell you about chemo).

Yes, I have that too. But I don’t know whether that’s due to the chronic sinusitis that started at the tail end of Covid in February. I am waiting to see an ENT.

Blockage of the lacrimal system is a well known side effect of taxane chemo. Usually resolves.

Oh holy mother of G-d. I don’t need nor want another surgical procedure. That article is kind of scary.

you very well may never need surgery. I touched base with my ophthalmologist when I had tearing and watchful waiting worked out.
