anyone trialled very high doses of melatonin? Apparently research from Dr. Russel Reiter sorry don’t have the link. if you look him up suggests it halts progression and has a range of other effects in terms of tumour growth. Thoughts? Experiences?

high dose melatonin
My husband's natural-path (who specializes in integrative cancer care) prescribed 20 mg melatonin. Along with the meds from the oncologist (Eligard and Darolutamide) my husband's numbers are good. It has only been a year so it may be too soon to tell what is the long term effectiveness but that is our experience with melatonin.
thank you. We are trialling a much higher dose. So we are early days wondering if this can help hold it at bay.
My naturopath, also an integrative oncologist, prescribed 20 mg of melatonin along with other supplements, to be taken in conjunction with the treatments prescribed by my MO and RO - ADT and RT. Does it make a difference? I really don’t know. My numbers are good while on ADT but when I’ve taken ADT vacations and am just on the naturopath’s supplements, my PSA starts rising eventually. This leads me to believe that in terms of controlling my PCa they don’t have much effect. I still take the supplements though because I do think they help my general health and help a bit in withstanding the SEs caused by ADT. Again, how much they help I don’t know. I’m pretty active and I’m quite sure that helps with the SEs quite a bit. At this point I take the supplements more out of habit and don’t want to take the chance that they are doing something good.
I have been taking 20 mg of melatonin for about 9 months started taking 60 mg. every other day 2 weeks ago and have been having some very vivid dreams. Prior to taking melatonin I seldom had dreams that I could remember. Have no idea if it is slowing PCa progression.
PCa is notorious for its variety. In some cases it gets better or not worse regardless of diet and exercise. Anecdotes abound about taking this or that natural stuff but without randomized clinical trials, are not worth much.
I've taken melatonin (12-24mg daily) for over three years, along with many other things. Stable with low PSA but also on Lupron for five years.
I know a patient who has a few months break (vacation) in hormonal treatment. His PSA level is zero. He takes following medications: Melatonin 10mg, Atorvastatin 80mg, Metformin 1500 and intravenous curcumin infusions plus some dietary supplements like vitamin D and others. He has been fighting for over 10 years, at the time of diagnosis he had a Gleason 10 (5+5) , PSA over 50 and multiple bone metastases.
In google you can find some publications (trials) e.g. Atorvastatin+Metformin for prostate cancer...etc. Curcumin in tablets is poorly absorbed by the body and its benefit is neglible.
