2nd Opinion.

Hello everyone.

As a few of you will know I have done all the treatments possible including Pluvicto which failed. My MO has put me on Jevtana for which I have comepleted 2 treatments so far.

After my call today with my doctor it was evident he is losing hope for me ( understood) and he will look at clinical trials.

I think it’s time to get a good 2nd opinion/ fresh pair of eyes on my situation so I’m looking for recommendations for a really good MO in Southern California. (Orange county/LA). If you could provide some info as to who you are recommending and the reasons why that would be very helpful.

As a reminder I’m 7.5 years into the big fight and somehow I have managed to get through the recent mist and looking to continue the fight. Thanks again for all the support recently.

You may want to go south to see Rana McKay at UCSD. She's plugged into many of the cutting edge trials. If you want to travel north, I highly recommend Tanya Dorff at COH in Duarte, or Edwin Posadas at Cedars-Sinai. All of these MOs are or have been lead investigators on most of the important clinical trials, and know the other top MOs in the world and what they are working on.

I used Prostate Oncology Specialists in Marina Del Rey. They only do prostate cancer. I saw (and still video chat) with Dr. Lam. Dr. Schlotz has a number of videos dealing with Prostate cancer. I highly recommend them.

I have switched from Dr. Mar at UCI to Dr. Liu at the new City of Hope facility in Irvine (close to the spectrum)

Dr. Liu was my MO at UCLA before she went to COH. Fantastic Dr.

I highly recommend my MO, Tanya Dorff, at City of Hope in Duarte, CA. She specializes in Prostate Cancer and is one of the best in So Cal.

Best of luck to you.

if you can get to Arizona…I highly recommend Dr. Gordon Grado. He’s a radiation oncologist…don’t just limit yourself to an MO.

could I ask why? I have quite a few recommendation from a few folk for MO located on my doorstep so would need a huge reason to travel that far. ?

Thanks for responding.

I have not seen Dr. Dorff as a patient but I have spoken with her a couple of years ago about CAR-T for prostate cancer. I was impressed in that one interaction.
