Xgeva and Pluvicto

Looking for info. I seem to recall that you shouldn't have an Xgeva shot just before starting Pluvicto. Thoughts?

Thanks to all the great contributors on this site. I rely on you more than you know as I enter the last months of my existence.

This study will test the combination of Xofigo and Lu177 classic.clinicaltrials.gov/...

I would avoid Xofigo and Lu177 about the same time for now.

Why? I can see why bisphosphonates (like Zometa) might form coordinate bonds with Lu-177, but Xgeva is a protein.

I can see why bisphosphonates (like Zometa) might form coordinate bonds with Lu-177,

If I may ask is this a serious concern. Myself and many with advanced PC have been and will continue to be on Zometa for a long time. Pluvitco is now well within SOC succession for most of us on Zometa.

I am just conjecturing, based on my knowledge of chemistry. I know bisphosphonates form coordinate bonds with calcium, so I imagine that they might with lutetium too, but I haven't seen any experimental data. Coordinate or chelate bonding is very weak, so it's possible that a variety of substances may break the bonds.

Glutamates are heavy-metal chelators, so avoiding Chinese food with MSG may be a good idea while taking Pluvicto.

I also hypothesize that curcumin may chelate lutetium:

Popular multivitamin and multimineral tablets often contain chelates that may (or may not) substitute for the chelated lutetium in Pluvicto.

Thanks as always. A lot of informed information. Truly appreciate it.

I've only a rudimentary memory of radium effects on bone and bone mets ( Xofigo and Lu177) long strand, short strand.

"long strand, short strand"?

Radium cannot be chelated, which is why it isn't used as a PSMA-targeted radioisotope.

Natural MSG or otherwise is present or used in all kinds of food and soup.

Glutamates are ubiquitous- just avoid extra -like Chinese food during treatment

TA

On the same subject, but very broad question.

I am on Pluvicto (4 infusion in 3 weeks). I am also taking B complex, Zinc, D, Magnesium, calcium and just started Pepcid (for side effects of Pluvicto) any adverse effects on the effectiveness of Pluvicto?

Your input is always appreciated.

Thank you for your advise.

I'd avoid chelated minerals and B12 (which is chelated)

Ditto on the love,

I'll refer you to my ex-wife and she'll make you feel old quicker than if you live alone, and the only thing that wakes you up faster than a cold toilet seat is a warm one....

Spot on. Old birds jump off branches never worrying whether they will get to their intended designation. They just jump. One day they won't make it, but they will never give it thought. A lot to admire.

And sort of ironic, as a kid I always wanted to be a bird until I found out they eat worms....
