I looked it up and antihistamines (Zyrtec, Claritin, Benadryl, et al) can lead to weight gain.
Both water retention and fat. How so fat? I can testify Claritin causes intense carb craving which I indulged enough to gain about 7-8 pounds in fairly short order.
Forget about serving size -- have a whole bag of carby snacks.
The point of posting this on an APC forum is that I also think that ADT and being low on T makes one even more sensitive to antihistamine cravings.
Awareness of the interaction is half the battle.

Maybe some can testify, but I don’t take antihistamines more for the unwanted stimulant effect than anything else. Ive never heard of this.
What I do know is high carb consumption is addictive. The only way I can control it is to eat very few and only complex ones. I mostly succeed and sometimes fail.
I find simple carbs very appealing, but am always left wanting more. They make me fat and compromise the quality of my diet despite best intentions.
Yep, processed carb and sugar products are like cigarettes; you want more and more. They're designed to be that way. Stick with whole food products and get plenty of fiber. I was a junk food junkie for most of my life until making a radical switch in 2019. The transition went much more smoothly than I feared.
Well said. Especially the 'more smoothly than I feared' part. Every single event or process in my life, no matter how difficult, painful, disappointing or even life threatening has ever been able to come close to the power of my fears.
