For you guys having treatment and experiencing tumor pain prior to treatment.

Have you seen pain reduction after treatments. I finished my 3rd treatment a week ago and as of today the pain has increased 😩. I take Oxy already but my doctor has given me a fentanyl patch to see if that helps. I know I have to look long term but I wasn’t expecting more pain. Also, at what point did you have scans ie during treatment or after the last one.

Thanks everyone

Pain often increases for the first one to two weeks. Radiation causes inflammation.

thanks Tall_Allen. The pain after the 3rd treatment is significant compared to the previous 2. Of course I am probably overthinking everything right now as typically I can walk but not this time. Hopefully good pain. 🤞🤞

You might ask your oncologist for a Medrol dose pack. It should be enough to get you through the bout of pain.

Neither my husband or my brother had significant bone pain prior to Pluvicto or after treatment.

PSMA scan 6 weeks after 2nd, 4th, and 6th doses. (And obviously prior to treatment start.)

I am one week out from my last (6th) dose of Pluvicto, and I am looking forward to its ultimate wash out just as much as I did for Taxotere. It has not been great for me in terms of pain - I literally ache everywhere, sometimes debilitatingly so. .

No matter what is said, Pluvicto is chemo in terms of possible side effects. I use all the same tips and tricks as I did for Taxotere, plus a few more. For example, some chemo regimens suggest taking Benadryl for the first week, and it seems to work for me to lessen pain and swelling.

Like you say, it is about long term, and scans and PSA indicate the treatment is having a positive effect on my tumor burden. So as long as my labs are okay, I’ve been encouraged here on HU to soldier through.
