I’m getting chemo and radiation treatments to get to Pluvitco!

Hopefully I will not be late!

Oh my, that's a big question. My spouse's RO said that it was their understanding that patients who were on it would keep getting it, but new patients would not be scheduled at this time. My spouse was scheduled to get his 2nd treatment on March 24th, but it was cancelled two days before the infusion. But then it was rescheduled for April 3rd. We're nervous it will get cancelled again. It sounds very unreliable right now, just as everyone has been saying. I wonder who knows what's really happening with availability, and how the distributors/suppliers communicate with clinics. It was a big disappointment and then a big relief to have the cancel/reschedule experience. Since chemo hadn't worked and PSA dropped from 114 to 38 after one pluvicto, we really wants more pluvicto! SE were much reduced compared to chemo. I sure hope you qualify and can get treatment started!

My RO stated that once you're accepted and receive your first dose, you have priority to receive Pluvicto, you're golden! They won't treat new patients until they can guarantee a supply for your subsequent treatments. The recent manufacturing issues have resolved according to him.

I'm hearing oncologists estimate it will take about a year for supply to catch up with demand. I suspect individual availability may depend on how well your oncologist goes to bat for you.

After 4 Pluvicto treatments, my PSA dropped from 4.34 to 0.14. I took my 5th treatment a week ago. They do something called a SPECT scan the day after treatment which lets you know how well the previous treatments worked. Very few treatment center have this particular scanner, which is very new in the market. So, I'm most likely done with Pluvicto, although I do have one more left if I chose to do so. Right now, I'm leaning towards a few blasts of SBRT to do a clean up, which can be done locally. I have been traveling from SoCal to Grand Rapids for Pluvicto. They seem to have a good source for the medicine. They also have the latest and greatest equipment. My SPECT scans only took about 30 minutes. PSMA scans take about 2 minutes, which is really cool! You can check them out at bamfhealth.com if you're interested. Dr. Mancini is great as are the nurse navigators, other doctors, technicians etc.
