How are these recommendations different from those of Dr. Gundry? I do not see any clinical studies here as proof of what he is saying. In fact his list of good and bad foods is very close to what Gundry says with minor variations. Cruicfers, nuts, olive and coconut oils. No brown rice etc etc.Red meat only if not overcooked and free range, fish good. Also fasting. Exercise. Coffee and all teas good. None of these have been tested in controlled studies.

Why no brown rice? How about other forms of rice? Or other grain groats?

I don't know about the guy in this video but Gundry says that white basmati rice has less lectin and that most of it is removed by cooking. I am not sure at all about the whole lectin thing. Gundry has been assailed as a quack because of this issue. It is agreed that lectin are bad and that some are downright toxic but people say they are removed by cooking. I would love to see (will do some googling) studies that demonstrate how much lectin remains after various types of cooking. How about this "trusted source, Harvard for some unproven assumptions about lectins. The worst is that last line with the concluding paragraph that screams of bullshit making unfounded assumptions about causality.

And this is from Harvard?

"In many large population studies, lectin-containing foods like legumes, whole grains, and nuts are associated with lower rates of cardiovascular disease, weight loss, and type 2 diabetes. [8-11] These foods are rich sources of B vitamins, protein, fiber, and minerals, and healthy fats. Thus, the health benefits of consuming these foods far outweigh the potential harm of lectins in these foods."

I've never paid much attention to the lectin issue, but others seem to use it if they don't like beans. I guess we each choose our own risk.

It'd be nice to get the a synopsis of the video.

yes it could be reduced to ab out one third as long without the repeats but m ost people probably need to hear something three times before hearing it.

I remember that Espinoza cautions about red meat especially highly cooked. What I am more concerned about is what passes for meat and dairy in this country. Cows have multiple stomachs evolved to digest grasses. They did not evolve to eat grains. To allow them to survive eating a grain diet they are given antibiotics. They do so badly eating grains that they are constantly bloated and produce huge quantities of methane contributing substantially to global climate change. Milk from domestic cows is as bad as the meat. Mastitis is rampant so of course they treat it with antibiotics instead of providing a healthy environment and diet for the cows. And domestic dairy milk contains high amounts of beta casein A1 Also why do we consider cow milk which is "designed" to quickly grow baby cows a suitable food for adult humans. High amounts of growth hormones and rapid growth of humans is associated with all sorts of problems later in life.

I am not devoted to everything that Dr Gundry says but he sure brings up a lot of salient points.

I saw most of that first hand on farm life in the 70's.

I believe it was in the 50s that a pharm company was trying to find ways to speed growth of cattle. They were looking for a source of vitamin B12 which was expensive to produce. Turns out that the waste of antibiotic production had high levels of B12 so they tried that and found it to be very effective so the birth of mass use of non therapeutic use of antibiotics in cattle. It has gone well beyond that since then. Human antibiotics are routinely used such as tetracycline and this may well be a big part of why bacteria are becoming antibiotic resistant. A while ago I called a chicken company (i think it was Perdu) to ask what types of antibiotics they used routinely and was told not to worry because they were not human antibiotics. Then she sent me a list of what they use and they were almost all human antibiotics. However I do have to give credit to Perdu because they discovered that letting their chickens out in the sun reduced costs and increased production. That was years ago but they were saying that within a few years all their chickens would be spending time out in the sun. zno idea if this really happened.

I'm very sorry but I stopped listening/watching at the 7 minute mark when he said Rosemary has anti-cancer properties without any clarification.

I'm a bit confused as to why this video is posted on the stage IV section of the forum.

I was also surprised at the whole video even though I agree with most of the dietary suggestions. I got complaints from mentioning that I thought Dr. Gundry had some good dietary ideas because they were not based on controlled studies. TA why have you not complained about the lack of scientific evidence in the Espinosa video?

You said: "I'm a bit confused as to why this video is posted on the stage IV section of the forum."

Could be because many of the people on this forum don't have advanced prostate cancer and can afford to live in their little fantasy world where diets and electromagnets can treat cancer.

Meanwhile, the patients wth APC, struggling to survive another month or two can scroll around posts like these to hopefully find something to help them.
