Nausea

For those of you who experience regular hot flashes, as I do, from lupon or other, do you feel a rush of nauseousness before your hot flash comes on? Seems like my oxybutynin tapers down the intensity of hot flashes but not this weird nauseous thing. Wondering about taking medicines like ondanestron.

My current prescribed Lupron is only for 6 months, 2 ea 90-day shots, but I understand it can take some time before Lupron leaves your system. I know many of you have been on this ADT treatment for much longer

Hey guy! ! I did Lupron for two years . I had hot flashes ..nightsweats and morning nausea ,male menopause it was . Now it’s hypogonadism for me and all that entails . I only have 3T . A women has more . I did the orch and dropped the shots . There is No going back on that one. That’s how much I disliked adt and pc . Anything to keep it away is my thinking . However ,I’m weak with no chance at T again without injecting it . Someday maybe? So far I’ve avoided the taking of one drug to counteract the side effects from another drug ..Many of us are on alot of prescribed big pharma per day . Not I ! Wife has me on the straight and narrow holistic approach .. I’ll be 62 this year with 8 yrs in on this pc game ..Thank God! 🙏

Thanks. I sm also 62 with just a year in since DX. They took nerves with surgery so no need of T for libido. ( def not injecting that boy or doing implant). But having some T back for muscle buiLd etc would be nice. But rather be at zero and not have it feeding any cancer. Guess I'll have to see what the next labs say

Do you do weightlifting? When I started with Lupron, I didn’t. This was a major mistake. No I do and side effects are much better under control. Also think about cardiovascular exercises.

I think the same as you . Don’t want feed the beast! 😳😂🤙🏽

I also had an orchiectomy done (4 years ago), and really am pleased to never need any more shots to suppress testosterone.

Regarding the hypogonadism (duh, I have NO gonads!), I'm also on estradiol skin patches (for over 3 years now). The backfill concept, using estradiol (the active part of estrogen) to replace the missing testosterone, can really reduce the unpleasant side effects of losing testosterone.

Our body needs some level of sex hormone to function properly, and either one will work. The risk for estradiol is primarily breast growth. I do have that, but don't care. I feel GREAT! No hot flashes, plenty of energy, memory probably better than ever, enhanced sense of smell (a mixed blessing), very little body odor, and more.

Doctors using old information will warn about cardiovascular risk with estradiol, but that has not been a factor with transdermal (skin) patches.

I too , am happy to not be taking any shots . I did try the estradiol gel . After one tube my tits grew and my nips felt like they were being ripped off! I dropped it . Any mo that I’ve had never even mentioned any way to help? Feeling good is everything . Great job ! Hang in there VhR guyZ! ✌️

If one searches hot flashes, one should find numerous discussions and commentary on effectiveness of various meds.

I don’t have nausea but have a general feeling of being uncomfortable just before the onset of the hot flash.

I'm surprised that oxybutynin also doesn't prevent the nausea. Ondansetron seems a little extreme for an occasional problem. Does a short pull on a CBD vape pen or a drop of CBD oil help?

Never tried CBD of any kind. Something to consider for sure. Not sure of the definition of occassional but I get 20 to 40 a day/night. Guess it could be a good sign T is low.

I've had hot flashes for the 6 years I have been on Eligard (which I understand is basically the same as Lupron. They only occur during sleep, and I wake up wringing wet with sweat. I have learned to live with this, and even though I know medications are available, I've never felt the need. I'm at a point in my life where I can sleep as long as I like.

Good luck................

😳

THC helped my nausea!

I get extreme pain in my bones as a hot flash comes on, as well as feeling an urgent need to use the bathroom (#2). I've had constant achy - flu like symptoms since about a year into my treatment. Extreme fatigue is the latest "bonus" I get from ADT. I've noticed that if I try to be active the side effects are not as severe.....except the fatigue, that's a progressive thing that just gets worse.

Interesting..I get sudden urge to pee with the hot flash as well..especially at night..so only sleep in 60 to 90 min intervals sometimes..maybe had to do with sudden lowering of blood pressure or something.
