Yea, I totally forgot it was Mardi Gras and rushed over to Walmart for the items, and it was packed as the snow storm that may dump 18 inches in town is making people go crazy and buy up provisions. I told my Alexa to play Mardi Gras music whilst cooking
I have enough leftovers for two more dinners, and still have 4 Abita Amber Lagers
that’s looks and sounds great. I’m coming right over to raid your fridge .
I wanted to order some of that “ green, purple, yellow , white “ icing King Cake again this year ( Amazon ) but everyone was saying it was arriving all smushed. I usually order a couple every year , …. I think Trader Joe’s has some of that crawfish and shrimp jambalaya in the freezer section … based on your post Im going down and get some. We have a big box of necklaces, carved coconut skill faces , masks etc. that the hammer usually decorates the house with but haven’t last couple of years tho. All these caught from parade floats, I have a hefty collection of Mardi Gras coins , some in picture.
You have sparked me into some ( belated ) Mardi Gras action buddy. It’s freaking amazing how many things we have in common. Perking up , ready to go ….
Wow, that's a wonderful Mardi Gras collection!! I knew that Walmart had crawfish tails, andoillle sausage, they were low on chicken as the anxious residents were stocking up for the Snow Storm.
Yay for my QoL to spark you to do a Belated Mardi Gras feast and so glad that you're feeling well enough to venture out shopping.
The Universe (Karma/Higher Power) has aligned us to meet Bruddah Kal.
Ya never know who one could come across on your Journey.
I got a msg the other day via HU Chat and it said that after partner's PCa diagnosis, Life felt Gloomy/Dark and then saw QoL posts that gave an energy to preserve Life, a good life lesson despite the adversity, to keep living.
people say that food is the path to the soul. Like you mention, I’ve also seen how your food and especially combined with your travel exploits help other people on the group buddy. Certainly a terminal cancer groups’ nature IS gloomy and dark, your energetic and upbeat QOL posts help balance out the gloom….. I’ve seen those posts that say so as well … definitely helpful. since we’re all going to be on here anyway waiting for that miracle cure, it’s good to see some upbeat posts help perk things up. I’d be the first to admit that upbeat , positive oriented fun helps me .
This is from that same person above on HU chat:Clarissa Pinkola Estes:
“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories from your life--not someone else's life--water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom. That is the work. The only work.”
And another quote via HU Chat from the same well read person "Living a self-conscious life, under the pressure of time, I work with the consciousness of death at my shoulder, not constantly, but often enough to leave a mark upon all my life's decisions and actions. And it does not matter whether this death comes next week or thirty years from now, this consciousness gives my life another breadth. It helps shape the words I speak, the way I love, my politics of action, the strength of my vision and purpose, the depth of my appreciation of living."
lol ….. Randy’s creativity and diversity related to his being a foodie is amazing. It’s hard to grasp how he stays so thin, …. all that exercise must really pay off.

After my Mom in Law passed in 88, I took over Turkey Day and Christmas 🎄🦃
The Conqueror Challenge Virtual Hikes and now the May 28 miler for Make A Wish has got me getting out. Went out at lunch and it was 28 out with light snow coming down
cringeworthy to say the least … but you need the water and everything will go back to toasty high desert b4 too long. That white stuff is dramatic tho …. Yikes.
