A little knowlege can kill you
Lack of knowledge WILL kill you. You must be your own advocate and do your own research and due diligence. Doctors are only taught SOC, they don’t and aren’t allowed to think outside the box, they also receive very little education on diet. For me, I chose SOC and I regret some of the decisions I made prior to educating myself about PCA. When your doctor tells you that you have cancer, your world stops turning and you’re at their mercy. A urologist will tell you that you need surgery, a radiologist will tell you that you need radiation. It’s not their fault, it’s how they were taught. Ultimately the type of treatment is up to you to decide and you’ll have to live with the consequences of those decisions, either good or bad.
Not mastering their profession is their fault. Especially since any mistake they make kills the patient in a most horrific way, and can collapse a family to ruins.
I sat in front of many of these men as they looked me straight in the eyes and said...
Surgery and Radiation have equal probability of cure.
The medical "system" always has its weaknesses, there are too many cracks between recognised departments, too many patients fall down these cracks, lack of communication, blinkered diagnosis's, unfortunately can be due to pure ignorance? As you say KingNeptune "It’s not their fault, it’s how they were taught."
Too many GP's depend on the "faithful" pain killers, treating the effects, ALWAYS short term 'solutions', not trying to find the fundamental cause, the patient ALWAYS losing in the end!
He is right on the mark. Unfortunately, this forum is also social media The recommendations here also need to be read with caution and with authentic backup.
From what I have read on this forum over the past several years there is a lot of stupid, brain dead doctors practicing medicine out there. To all the brothers. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, LEARN ALL YOU CAN SO YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN INFORMED DECISIONS.
I am currently starting radiotherapy for PC probably next month, but the local health centre "expert" in diabetes 2, has already ruined my first preliminary start scan, by introducing me to Synjardy 850mg when last testing me for blood/ alcohol, I told him I was just starting new diet, needed new health grill, [in one ear out the other🙄], I was on metformin 500 mg. Violent anal fissures, which delayed first preliminary scan. I told him over the phone the situation, agreed to go back to metformin 500! When I got my new 6 weekly prescriptions, I presume he [he is not my GP] in his wisdom, decided to keep me on Synjardy? What I did not tell you, I have Schwannomatosis, I had a schwannoma on my left elbow for nearly four years, [about the size of a baked bean] I was actually sleeping on a large leather chair, because of the pain, I knew what it was and where, but was x-rayed all over my body, I had a schwannoma on my spinal cord, with the help of MRI [about the size of walnut] removed in Dec. 1997 [wow 25 years ago how time flies?🤔] I lost my patience with this "GP" when he had my hands x-rayed, I had now developed HPT high pain threshold, my brain cannot distinguish pain properly, I am immune to pain killers, I changed GP to my current GP, within three months diagnosed and surgically removed! Need I tell who this diabetes marvel GP was? Ironic thing as well since he had my blood and urine tested about six weeks ago I have lost 1/2 stone🙃🤗
