great trip …. Do you stay for the night or make the drive back the same day. I know it’s only about 100 or so miles but getting a suite in the Beverly Wilshire or chΓ’teau Marmont with room service with a view of Sunset would be kewl.

😁😁😁

Getting out and about as well, Randy. Went to a Charity event for our favorite group PAWS Chicago. Another chance to amortize the cost of the Tux, support a worthy cause and twirl Coco around the dance floor.

so how was the play??? we have tickets to the same show when it comes to phoenix. I just love revivals (other than the latest version of Oklahoma that we and most of the audience left at intermission). theatre is good for the soul.

The play adaptation is a bit different from the 1962 movie with Gregory Peck as Atticus, and a really young Robert Duvall as Boo Radley imdb.com/title/tt0056592/

The entire cast did a superb job, especially Richard Thomas as Atticus and Melanie Moore as Scout. The Set pieces were done really well.

The only thing was, since I'm old and a bit hard of hearing (maybe from the decades of dental drill noise), I couldn't catch all of the dialogue.

It was a shock to hear the actors use the "N" word, there were a few gasps from the audience with what racist Bob Ewell says, but it's set in the 1930s. There were some comedic lines that broke the tension.

Very well done, and I did tear up in the 2nd 1/2. A rousing standing O from us all.

Enjoy Brother

the hearing thing is my major issue also - they have headsets that apparently i'm too vain to wear, but should. this became apparent when Hamilton came to the disney channel so we watched it with subtitles - and finally figured out what they were actually singing about. -

thanks for the info

I posted a couple things to try to help and I got over 49 replies.........many did not like what I wrote, and TA was so exception.

I am going to keep posting because that is what the universe has called me to do. at least at this point.

I am so thankful you and I can share as things are so hard for me.

Good morning from CA,

Yes, it was wonderful, and the actors were great. I rewatched the 1962 movie the other day imdb.com/title/tt0056592/

A tragic saga of the Deep South and the actors did an awesome job engaging the audience, breaking up the seriousness with occasional levity. The passion that the actors put into their characters really affected the audience especially Mayella's impassioned testimony and Atticus's closing argument.

I will add it to my Audible to listen on a walk.

Yes, keep posting, this is an open forum, it is moderated and if there is anything too controversial, they will take it down. We all have opinions and hopefully we can have a civil discourse. Ad Hominem attacks and trolling caused some of our longtime members to leave eg Nalkarats, J-O-H-N :-(

Nutrition/diet is a very touchy subject and we all have our views on it. I say let's all do our own thing and as the Fleetwood Mac song says "Go your own way"
