Hi all, second post of the day, hope you can offer advice.
my hubby has just finished chemo and will start radiotherapy in February and was hoping to get a away before radiotherapy starts, unfortunately it appears he can’t get insurance at all, we have tried world first travel insurance, Puffin and a few more recommendations, is this because he is still having treatment or because it’s advanced cancer? the thought of not being able to travel has really hit him really hard so I’m hoping there’s a way.
very best wishes to you all

I would call the folks at tripinsurance.com. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think in some cases if you buy the insurance within a certain number of days from booking the trip that preexisting conditions are covered.
That was the case in 2019, when my late wife was being treated for lung cancer. If memory serves, our particular insurer (Tin Hat) the date of record was not the date the reservation was made, but the date a deposit was put on the trip.
We travelled after my husband was diagnosed. He was insured for everything except the cancer as it was a pre-existing condition. Unless you think the cancer is going to be of concern while you're away, there is nothing stopping you from travelling insured for everything else.
I just came back from a week in Qatar, £68 insurance for me. You can complete the policy application online but takes 20 minutes, you need all of your medical history. Hopefully this helps and enjoy your travels
I'm on continuous ADT and Enzalutamide plus a blood thinner for DVTs, so yes I am receiving treatment.
However, if you were mid way thu radiation or chemotherapy then this may change things. Im not actually sure though. The online medical questions that you complete are very comprehensive. I think put aside 20 minutes and complete the policy application.
We buy travel insurance from TravelGuard. We get preexisting condition coverage as well as cancel for any reason coverage. Not cheap insurance but we have had success with claims with TravelGuard in the past.
My husband and I have booked two big trips next year and we insured both using squaremouth.com which is a site that compares different travel insurance companies. We found many companies that waive pre-existing conditions as long as you purchase travel insurance with 10-14 days (depending on the company) of your first deposit on your trip. Like you and your husband, we want to travel while we can. Plan your trip and have a great time making memories!
