I got my 3rd and final Provenge infusion yesterday, the nurse told me since i hadn't had any of the flu-like side effects i probably wouldn't. she was not quite right. at 2 AM this morning i woke up with chills, then spent the rest of the night waking up about every 40 minutes with what felt like one heck of a fever. pretty much back to 'normal' now, i think, so maybe i still got off pretty easy.
Bone scans next Tuesday, fingers crossed that I only see gray and white. no black spots would be a great early Christmas present.

Yep, it was that last infusion that got me too, flu like symptoms similar to a Covid vaccine. I look at it like my immune system kicking into gear and just embrace the suck.
scans done Tuesday, and results have been seen (but not discussed with the MO yet, that is next Tuesday) - three different radiologists reports, basically one new finding - i have a spot of increased uptake in one of my neck vertebrae - but the radiologist indicated it looks more like degenerative condition than a new met. So, not bad news, i guess, but not entirely great news. Besides having cancer, I am getting older, is what I get from the reports. i don't suppose my doctor will argue.
the abdominal scan didn't quite get my testicles, but i can see what looks like empty space above where the tops of them show slightly. nice reminder that there is a lot of room in the sack with the two marbles, where i used to keep the kiwis.
