so my dad did decide to do the chemo. He just finished the 3rd round.

Psa started at 26.94

Went to 22.25 after first

Went to 13.65 after two

they took the last reading (13.65) the same day he finished his 3rd chemo. So unsure what the results will be after the 3rd round. Is that level in decline normal or should it have dropped faster to be really working? With zytiga it went from 3,300 to under 1 very rapidly.

Lu-177 is next. Just wondering what the rate at which the chemo is supposed to lower numbers.

Looks like a great response s far. You often don't get same the kind of deep response from chemotherapy that you do from anti-androgens like Zytiga or Xtandi.

A 50% drop in PSA is considered to be a very good response to chemo. In one of the recent trials with chemotherapy. they looked at PSA response and the top group for the best prognosis was > 50% after 5 cycles.

Had 6 cycles of Docetaxel in 2021………PSA went from 22 to 2.98. Had 7 more cycles in 2022…PSA went from 56 to 18…….slow but steady declines are considered most beneficial. Think of metastatic prostate cancer as a chronic incurable condition that chemo can control while we all wait for the next magic treatment…….I am approved for Pluvicto (Lu-177) but will keep it in my back pocket until chem fails, if ever.

assuming you can only do Lu-177 once?

Reading should not be sooner than 3 weeks after each infusion.
