Body composition and pelvic fat distribution may be correlated with cancer aggressiveness and recurrence in patients with localized prostate cancer, according to study results. These findings were reported in the journal Medicine (Baltimore).
Obesity is among the risk factors for prostate cancer, and some evidence has pointed to a greater rate of biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer in patients with obesity. “Fat tissue is metabolically active and thought to play a major role in prostate carcinogenesis,” the study investigators wrote in their report.

Other than dealing with the incontinence, I'm doing OK. I'm scheduled for the AUS implant at Loyola hospital in Chicago in January; however, trying to find a low cost Medicare supplemental plan that will pay for the implant and the surgery has been a total nightmare! Agents tell me that their plans are accepted by Loyola and my surgeon, but when I talk to the hospital's financial department, I find that things are different. None of Loyola's 16 PCPs would accept the Cigna plan that I signed up for, so I have to find a different provider and a doctor that will do my pre-op tests. Thanks to the ex-wife in Illinois I lost everything when I moved to Thailand, and living on my paltry SS 'entitlement' makes it difficult to pay for an expensive plans. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
best thing i ever did was ditch the lupron for estrogen gel, I literally got my life back. thank you again ron for continuing to beat that drum for us.
