I was diagnosed of PC in 2020, I had surgery to remove it in September 2020 but psa did not go down to zero. By February 2021 psa was 3.4 so I began lupron shots and I am still receiving it every 6 months. I also completed 36 rounds of radiation 2021. My psa began going up from .05 in February 2022 to 1.1 in July 2022. Phlarify PSMA scan suggested that my cancer has become metastasized and had spread to other parts.
In October 2022, my oncologist suggested that I was a good candidate for Provenge immunotherapy which I completed in October. Admittedly, Provenge appear to have stopped some pains that I was beginning to have.
I completed Provenge in October, my last psa was on November 5 it was 4.5--I was already aware that Provenge does not lower psa, it only awakes sleeping white blood cells to fight the cancer.
With immunotherapy completed, and psa rising, I will be meeting with my oncologist to begin the next phase of therapy in the coming week; but I am not sure what do next
However, I am still processing all what has happened and not quite sure what to do next. Presently, I am not having any pains, I am able to do my walking exercise and also go to work. But I am not sure what next, and I really need help with questions such as the following.
1) what should I do next. 2) Should I go on chemo now or wait? 3) If chemo now, which chemotherapy drugs would work well with immunotherapy?
