This is my first post, but I have been reading and learning for quite a while. Thank you to the Gurus on this site both past and present who have taught me. I can never pay you back what you are owed. May you all be blessed with a life full of days, and days full of life!
On to my story. After RP, HT, RT to pelvic area (not wprt see my profile for full history)
Insurance approved PSMA Pyl test. Test on 8/17/22. Results numerous lymph node uptake on both sides of pelvic area and at Aortic bifurcation. Now node metastatic. Just when I was feeling so good! Numerous nodal uptake for such low PSA.
Firmagon shots on 8/19/22. Back on the sauce...
I am mulling over whether to go with abi +p or enz in combo with Orgovyx (pill lupron). Leaning toward abi +p. It seems RCT's for both show similar OS outcomes. Not interested in chemo yet but know it is around the corner. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

Pizza, pizza, pizza. Chemo, chemo, chemo. As many cycles as you can stand. I did 8 cycles. ADT plus chemo plus zytiga or xtandi. Not a dr. of course. Trilateral not available 5 and a half years ago. I hang my head and cry.
I was diagnosed in 3/2020, Gleason 9, multiple Mets (advanced stage IV, hormone sensitive). Finished 6 rounds of chemo (Docetaxel) in early 12/2020 followed by switch from Firmagon to Orgovyx. PSA reached nadir in 03/2021 and has been undetectable since. All Mets are now stable. Recommend chemo as early as possible. Today’s chemo is not the same as earlier treatments. I mainly suffered fatigue, lost some weight and my hair (which grow back just as thick within a few months), but otherwise I faired quite well. I will likely do it again once I become castrate resistant. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Thanks, I reviewed the RCT’s re chemo and triplet therapy and have decided to go with the triplet therapy. Thanks everyone for your guidance and advice. We all fight on.
I didn’t have chemo until it was apparently too late. My PSA continue to rise through 10 rounds of Docetaxel, I should’ve went to Chemo before I did Xtandi and Zytiga.
I am now using the LU 177 treatment, first round completed late August. But my PSA has continue to climb. It seems my neuropathy has gotten worse and have a little bit of pain in my hip area probably due to lymph nodes being affected. I’m hoping my oncologist will come up with a way to lower my PSA which is now in the 400 range.
i’ve had basically no pain through all the chemo infusions and prior treatments. I expected the pain to show up anytime, I can’t complain though as I’ve had many years of being pain free.
