LU 177 in Germany

Is this legit? Has anyone done it? They have very good SEO etc. Price seams quite reasonable especially since my Father offered to pay. I thought the treatments were spread over a much longer period.

Hopefully someone will chime in that has personal experience, but I can share with you that an acquaintance of mine’s husband was referred to Germany by Dr. Kwon for LU-177.

She shared that *each* treatment was approximately $13,000.00 USD, but the price can vary depending on what drugs are necessary.

Of course that’s not including airfare or lodging.

I apologize I have very limited information on this. I only replied as the $$$ amount they’re asking for on the site you shared is in the ballpark as to what this couple paid.

Unfortunately I don’t have more to share nor do I know if the site you shared is legit or not. 🥴

As it is approved in USA now, may I ask why you’re not pursuing options here?

My Jeff qualified for LU-177 just prior to it being approved here. However, we were advised that insurance companies were balking and not authorizing this treatment yet.

In other posts I’ve seen, supply seems to be an issue as well.

Whatever the reason, Jeff was not started on LU-177, and instead was put on immunotherapy (Keytruda).

Are you having the same issues?

Yes you have heard it right. Dr.Ishita B Sen based in Delhi is doing Lu 177 and Ac 225 at very fare price.

you can get details from their website : nuclearmedicinetherapy.in

The quoted price is probably for one cycle of Lu177. You will need two or more cycles about six to eight weeks apart. This makes it expensive.

i did think it seemed odd because various trials said something like 6 cycles. the problem is not the money but all the traveling.

Are you seeking AC-225 also?

Many clinics in Germany apply two cycles and then make a PSMA PET/CT to control the result of the therapy. Based on the result it is discussed with the patient if further cycles shall be applied or the patient wants to make a long break until new mets appear on a PSMA PET/CT. One doctor said he sees an advantage of the Lu177 therapy in the relatively long period without treatment intensification after the therapy.

it is expensive. I got treated in Germany in 2016 for 10k euros (each treatment). I believe most places in Germany charge around 15K. The price increases around 3K euros if they have to do a PSMA PET/CT.

India much cheaper and very good. Check out Dr Sen's information on this site.

Here in Australia it’s $AUD 10,000 but with the crappy exchange rate our falling dollar now equals about $USD 7,500.Check Genesis Care.

Thank you. I will research it. TGA has some kind of special access scheme I’ve seen on The San Wahroonga’s website.sah.org.au/theranostics

In Germany you can go to Homburg (not Hamburg) Universitätsklinikum des Saarlandes with Prof. Samer EZZIDDIN. He and his staff are very nice and professional. One Lu177 treatment will cost you about 8 000 €. This price includes 4 nights in hospital. You'll stay from Monday to Friday. The e-mail: samer.ezziddin@uks.eu

They also offer the treatment with ac225 mixed with Lu177 but I don't know how much it will cost.

You'll need at least three treatments but it depends on the results of the psma petscan before the treatment.

My husband had no sideeffects apart a little nausea for two days. No problems at all with the salivary glands. He's got his third treatment on 03/01/ 2022.

The nuclear medicine Secretary's phone number is

+49 68 41 16 24 672 .

They speak also English.

Good luck.

I have been wondering about people still planning to go abroad for Lu177. Considering that it has been approved by FDA now, why not wait and get it done here in the US? If, like me, you do not qualify yet for it because you have not tried chemo yet, why not do the chemo now? Given that we are stage 4, we will most likely need to do both at some stage then why not do the chemo first. Having said that, I know some are dead against chemo, is that the reason? My OC said that on average, chemo adds about 6-months of life while LU-177 adds 4-months, we are going to need both the gains, right?

It is a matter of timing and effectiveness. My hope is that LU 177 will be more effective the sooner it is done. However you make a good point, why not do the chemo so as to qualify for LU 177. I am against chemo but would consider it. What is the average lifetime after castrate resistance ( I know there are varying degrees) without either LU 177 or chemo? Adding 10 months sounds like it could buy time to get things together a little better but there is also quality of life and then the baseline without treatment.

On your question about "What is the average lifetime after castration-resistant" - like you pointed out, there is no straight answer to that question. For what it is worth when I asked the doc about my own outlook - he said considering my cancer has not entered any vascular organs yet (I have 8 spots in bones and lymph nodes), he gave me 2-years without treatment and put me in the 5-year range if 1-2 of the options left for me end up working well.I took the option that I suggested, chemo - Docetaxel. The first 2 weeks were rough but things stabilized after that - I have my next infusion tomorrow.

Search engine optimization. The ability to get your site to show up above others in searches.

Many from this site who have gone to Germany can give you explicit directions down to what train to take from the airport, or cab fare, and hotel, info to go directly by yourself for half the cost of using the service you included in your post. They are legit, you just pay quite a bit more for their services, if I remember they include some insurance as well for you while in Germany.

Others have gone to India and you can get specific info from them, Dr trained in Germany, your completely taken care of and the cost is reportedly $10k will cover round trip flight over, hotel stay, treatment, driver to pick you up at airport, to hotel, hotel to hospital, and back as needed. Back to airport.

did you stay there for the duration or travel back and forth for each treatment?

gyancey in reply tospencoid2

No I had my first treatment March 2019 and my second June of 2019. I traveled back and forth. The treatment was successful as I am now in remission.

I had 2 treatments also in Australia & it gave me 3 to 4 years before the PSA was back up to 19, so it was not the silver bullet for me anyway.

Sorry to hear that. Would you consider doing LU-177 treatment again? I by no means think I'm cured, just bought myself some time.
