Can a case be made for ADT vacation during a 4week radiation therapy?

I would like your opinions. It seem to me it might make the prostate cells more radiosenitive because they are dividing faster.

I think I’d feel better during the Rad rx and would restart after Rad rx finished . On orgovx and zytiga.

Bad idea?

Don’t know?

Go ahead?

What do you think?

No way, no how. ADT radiosensitizes the cancer. Stopping and restarting is like stopping and restarting antibiotics - it selects for resistant varieties.

Thank you. Ed

NOPE! Adt is meant to work with the RT to put the pc down in unison . No breaks from it for now! May It work well for you! 🎯

In addition to the issue of radiosensitizing the cancer, 4 weeks isn’t long enough for you to ‘feel better’ anyway, even on Orgovyx. Stay the course!

Stay with it, adding probiotics will help protect the lining of intestines during radiation.

I had 38 sessions of whole pelvic IMRT and took 20 billion dose of probiotics daily starting weeks before for added protection.

You should also discontinue anti-oxidants, which are counter productive during radiation.

Here's a good thread about prepping for radiation... healthunlocked.com/advanced...

I did three things that studies have shown that sensitize cancer cells to radiation : 1) ate edamame to get phytoestrogens that inhibit inflation, 2) took berberine which downregulates repair proteins, and 3) did intermediate fasting once a week during 25 IMRT sessions.

Bad idea. Stick with ADT to help kill the little bastards.
