This is my first post . I am 67 , had a stable PSA of around 6 for over a decade. Since my test last year it shot up to 8 in Feb. I scheduled an appt with a urologist referred by my primary. After telling him my symptoms , he wanted to schedule a biopsy with MRI ASAP. After reading here and elsewhere , I decided to ask some questions. I also , concurrently, made a lot of lifestyle changes ( dropped hard liquor, cigars, red meat, cut coffee in half, started eating a lot of colored veggies and salmon. Doing several targeted nuraceuticals. Drinking fresh Vegetables juice and a LOT of water) Many of my symptoms improved in one week, perhaps suggesting they were diet related? Urologists says diet won't fix it. But he agreed to a 4Kscore test . Got back the results : 4k score of 9, Free PSA of 1.35 and Free PSA % of 18. What does the collective mind in this place think of that score relative to my risk for an aggressive Gleason 7+? Thanks for any input.

I’ve never heard of a 4K test. Can you explain?
4kscore.com. It measures Free PSA and % Free PSA . The score has been validated with peer review studies to be fairly accurate .
A 4K score between 7.5%-19.9% means that you have intermediate risk of detecting aggressive prostate cancer on a biopsy. None of the diet or the supplements you are taking will reverse prostate cancer, although depending on what you are taking, it may mask the PSA results:

Get the biopsy.
BTW- you are posting on a site for men with advanced PCa. You may get more relevant feedback at this site:
I had those tests before a biopsy, and basically a 4K Score of 9 means you have a 9% chance of having a Gleason 7 or higher tumor, and your free-PSA test of 18% is above the cutoff of 10% for indicating a biopsy should be done. These scores are less of a concern than your PSA of 8, and the quick rise (although that could also be prostatitis). You might try another confirming test such as the PHI test (a urine test). To give you a comparison-- at diagnosis I had PSA of 29, free-PSA of 8%, and 4K Score of 83-- and the followup biopsy showed an extensive tumor graded at stage 3b. From the looks of it, if you have something, you are catching it early. Good luck.
If you look at my profile you might be able to see your future / or not, as we are all different. My PSA stayed at 6 for years then moved to 8, next stop 21. Life style changes may not stop it from progressing but it MAY give you a better chance of dealing with it successfully. #1 best thing you can do NOW is start a serious exercise program. Fitness is your friend.
I would get the biopsy since the value is above 7.5% and the chances you may have a cancer with Gleason 7 or higher is around 32%.
Urologist don’t care about diet . I like all that you’re doing . I ve done the same .. you do you . 😎✌️
