I have locally advanced PCa ( prostate bed and adjacent lymph node). Cannot have salvage radiation (EBRT) as bowel is too close to prostate bed and I have a metal hip joint. is SABR still a possiblilty?

You may want to consult with Alison Tree at Royal Marsden. She uses the Elekta Unity platform which may be useful in your case.

Your metal hip will deflect the magnetic fields of the mr-guided RT and thus allienate any precision properties, if you could ever persuade a RO to employ it in your case.

Alison Tree was running a SABR trial called the TRAP trial, funded by Prostate Cancer UK.

I was able to have some SABR treatment through the trial to a single metastasis back in August 2020.

They do make a mould to position you in the correct position prior to treatment to target the beam accurately

See if you can find a trial for ‘neutron radiation’… it has been very successful with other cancers and it’s supposed to be quite promising with prostate. It has a super small focal point and very powerful…you only need a few sessions. I was at a clinical trial at the University of Washington for it but I was in the control group so didn’t actually have it.
