Unexpected Med One change last Fri. Should I be concerned?

It has been an interesting ride with my adv Pca S4/w/mets recurrence now in yr two treatments. Yes, standard treatments Sept 2019 to present. Abiraterone only 250mg daily(low dose because of my cardiac issues) plus Pred 5mg daily. I was on Lupron Depot 9/2019 till June 2021. I went on Lupron hormone vacation then, primarily to more cardiac conditions.

To the point, phone call from my 2nd Med Onc RN told me that he, could not continue to treat me with all my cardiac issues. Ok should I take that as: 1) He is not qualified to deal with cancer/heart rhythm issue medication interactions 0r 2) He is looking out for the best for my cancer lifetime treatments??

I have been transferred to a well known Med One in my home town of Ft. Wayne, IN, with a new patient appt 24th Feb. Yes, closer to home than Indianapolis.

No I'm not at an all time PSA level. Trying to balance my cardiac/PCa health is interesting task. Recent PSA's: 12/01/2021 0.156ng/mL. 08/25/2021 0.126ng/mL June 2021 0.200ng/mL.

Really should I take this new unexpected Med One change as a positive or neg life experience? Plus my Cardiac Rhythm health has improved dramatically since my Cardiac Focus Heartlight X3 laser ablation Jan 04th 2022. Happy New Year.

It has been a while since updating my PCs health. Now going to a new, new doc.

A forgot to write that. I’m being transferred from present medical oncologist to new medical oncologist in my home town.Park iew Cancer Institute affiliated with MD Anderson.

Dr Zhentao Zhang.

My last MO says he cant handle cardiac complicated patients. Maybe thats a niceway of putting it.

I’ve already got super EP electrophysiologist and great Cardiologists.

Oh by the my last(one thats dumping me) is cardiology trained from med school.

Hope this helps Nal

Discuss switching to a GnRH antagonist or orchiectomy- they seem to have lesser cardiac effects.

Not bad PSA reading. Sounds like heart is acting better and my not be such a complication form now on... I got of Lupron for like and cardiac side effects with Orchiectomy and feel fine about it.... Now working with second BCR --meeting with my RO tomorrow. Must be nice to live close to a Dr to handle your problems ...I usually travel 40, 75 or 105 miles to see my different drs or scan people.. Life Is Good, especially if you can keep your heart healthy.

Nice. I'm jealous.

My life in seafood: Seattle phenomenal.

Then moved to Japan super, super phenomenal.

Then moved to Chicago pretty good.

Now the twin cities ok but difficult to source.

Sorry you've had to deal not only with PCa but cardio as well.

I wish the best for you.

in reply todepotdoug

Love the grouper! ❤️

Any trips to Florida must include grouper sandwiches everyday. Grilled, fried you name it!

Well grandchildren rule. I'm glad to be here.

I remember before my dx I used to squirm and complain " no that's the wrong direction, I need to be moving south if I move at all" LOL.

Your track record speaks for itself, excellent. But the ongoing cardiac issues are understandably a concern. What does your cardiovascular exercise look like? Your LDL, HDL, triglycerides, your maximum HR, resting HR, 1 minute recovery (in BPM) from max exertion? Any and all of those would be helpful.

depotdoug in reply toLondon441

Yes it is, cardio workouts have increased since my Cardiofocus heartlightx3 laser cath ablation Jan 4th! 41 days 21 hrs in super Sinus Rhythm since. Yesterdays T.T. Echogram results report was also better than 2021’s Echo. Love my exercising. Thanks for reminding me about max exercise benefits..

Hey guy! I didn’t know that you’re a Hoosier . I spent years around Indy and Bloomington . I’ve been on constant adt 7 yrs and my veins are minuscule now . What does that say about my heart? We know that it’s not good . Guy that survive for some years usually get taken by the heart . That’s my path I think . Better that than end stage pc imho . I hope that you get a dr close by . Good luck Doug . Go Hoosiers! ❤️

I see Dr Zhentao ‘Richard’ Zhang at Parkview Cancer Institute next Thursday. Parkview is a part connected with MD Anderson Texas.

Ok I went out to Parkview Cancer Inst to do my pre visit labs yesterday.

I should be excited to see a new better, more aware if my Ad PCa/cardiac issues?

But still trying to fathom being “Transferred”.

Got to lool at positives. Hard to do at times
