I know its only an animation on the City of Hope website, but it was very satisfying to watch those t cells zap the cancer cells.
It may work for some patients. It could have significant treatment related adverse events.

I think out of 9 men in the trial 3 had experienced cytokine release and it was "manageable" ?
Was there some "work" in this area previously and cytokine release was more severe? For some reason I think I read that.
In this current trial "chemo pre-treatment is given" and mention of "All patients received a lymphodepletion regimen consisting of 30 mg/m2 fludarabine + 300 mg/m2 cyclophosphamide.'"
The Nature article refers to the success they had with a type of leukemia. I thought it was interesting that the modified T cells stick around for years.
CAR-T of course has had greatest success with hematologic cancers; there are promising results from CAR-M (chimeric antigen receptor macrophage ):
