I tried to find the answer, but got some puzzling results.
How long should you wait with first PSA test after radiation is completed? Is it expected that PSA goes down from start or it usually goes up and than (hopefully) lowers?
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2022!

I am hopeful that your dad will get a response. Hopeful that the current or past treatment will improve his quality of life. Is he feeling good?? Keep the faith and enjoy your time with him! Merry Christmas!!
You should wait a few weeks. The radiation will kill cancer cells that will increase PSA. The radiation will also cause irritations in the prostate bed which will also temporary raise his PSA.
My first PSA was just done, post radiation and SBRT 5 months after completion. Stopped oral ADT early Oct. PSA up .2 or so, but appears that PSA may vary for awhile, while the cancer cells die off.... Told frequent monitoring is in order for first two years with good reports. Not sure when first PSMA scan will be done...
