I was diagnosed with PCa in 2004, having an LRP in 2010. That failed, so we have been controlling it with ADT (lately Zytiga). I have developed a wayward metastasis in my pelvis, which was treated with radiation last January. Last night I passed a large blood clot in my urine. Has anybody any thoughts on this?

Blood in urine
My husband recently went through blood in his urine. First guess from uro was that it was radiation related which can show up years after radiation.
He had a cystoscopy and it was found that one of his heart medications Eloquis which is a blood thinner was causing his tissues to be extremely fragile and to bleed very easily upon touch.
Best plan for you would be to get a urine test for infection. That's where we started.
It could be a lot of things: UTI, blood clots upstream (kidneys, ureters, bladder) from the cancer, scar tissue in your anastomosis that has broken loose. Report it to your urologist.
I had salvage radiation therapy in 2018 after a prostatectomy in 2012. This summer (2021) I started experiencing sporadic incidents of blood in my urine. Docs at University of Michigan recommended a cystoscopy and CT urogram to look for the source. Turns out the cystoscopy noted a mild case of cystitis in the bladder which they determined to be the cause of the blood leakage. I was advised not to be concerned as no other issues were noted in the two procedures. Apparently it is not unusual for symptoms (like blood in the urine) to arise several years after radiation treatment resulting from radiation induced cystitis.
Blood in the bowl always causes panic. Been there, done that, have the tee shirt to prove it and the celluloid lapel button to be a show off.... See a good urologist....
