Blood in urine

Hello!

My father has gotten blood in his urine. He has had a lot of radiation, could it be that? Is it common?

They are doing different tests of course. I’m just curious. Also he asked me if he could continue to take Nattokinese (he has stopped because of the blood), and I have no idea?

Thank you!

Oroa dig inte, my husband also had blood in urine after radiation, it subsided. Maybe wise to stop Natto for a while now though. All the best!

Thank you! The strange thing is he had radiation a year ago and blood came now. Can this happen?

In that case, a full work up will be required to rule out any other cause of hematuria (blood in urine)

Blood in Urine can be a side effect of Radiation. It is called Radiation Cystitis. This usually goes away with time.

Yes, it can, my husband had that more than 5years after RT. But it has to be examined by a cysto scopy (?) and/or mri, ct.

My husband didn't get blood in his urine much later after radiation. His is due to infection. Bactrim clears it right up. Don't second guess, though. Get to the doctor and relay all details .

I still sometimes get some blood in urine, ten years after radiation. It happens when scar tissue sloughs off in the urine stream. It goes away in a few days.
