On nov 15 my shot up to 561 and my concern level shot up as well. I know its one component to the big picture, were treating the cancer not the PSA, I have another ct and bone scan on friday to determine any spead of mets, hopefully not. I will still take my victorys. I was represcribed xtandi and zytiga combo. Go figure both failed me a couple years back.

I hope your scans carry good news. The title of your post says you dropped to 18.7 in two weeks. What was the treatment that led to the drop?

Costarica1961 profile image

Zytiga and xtandi

Add both?

By the way, I like the picture of your contented pup.

That is incredible. You failed both xtandi and zytiga. Now taking both together works. Is this a new protocol?

I am pretty sure its been studied, although with limited sucess. I was very surprised to see the drop.

Well great. Good for you.I hope others will chime in and give some insight as to a theory behind combining Zytiga and Xtandi.

Of note it looks like you completed cabazitaxel and carboplatin not too long ago which might have "re-sensitized" you to one or the other but to combine both is interesting.

Thanks for sharing and again glad to hear of your good news.

As we say I hope you can get some time out of this.

Hubby is a 1961 rock star (well...accountant - but basically the same thing). I'm seriously interested in this combo of zytiga & xtandi. He failed both. Currently on docetaxel but his PSA is climbing. Hoping for good news Costarica!

in reply toYadifan

“Rockstar” cool 👏👏🥳

I failed docetaxal, then I went to carboplatin and cabataxal it worked for a year.

in reply toCostarica1961

I’ve followed you . It’s been a rough path . I’m sorry . Stay strong! 🤙🏽🙏

Yes accountants are rock stars. In my case Zytiga did not work and next step will be Xtandi so taking both together is an option.

I will call it a draw, the cancer doesnt win, when i die it does as well.

in reply toCostarica1961

That’s what Norm

Macdonald said in one of his routines. “It’s a draw!” I Agree. I’ll take that sucker down with me in the end. Until then , I ll kick dust in it’s face. It’s deserves no less from us. Keep on kickin it .

I've been on Zytiga/prednisone for the past two years (after Cassodex failed). PSA rising for the past year; tumor growth in prostate (from 2.3cm to 7.7cm); tumor like a clam shell around my urethra. Just had prostate embolization (after TURP and radiation deemed too risky), and I'm peeing like a teenager! Was closed out of trial of Xtandi + Leukemia med. Will suggest this protocol to my oncologist.

I hope you get on a very long and painless path. Right now i feel great without the chemo rushing through my veins.
