would you mind adding more details of your case.

Also are you taking prednisone with zytiga?

Yes 5 mg prednisone

You need to check your potassium and blood pressure. If potassium is low or blood pressure is high request a higher dose of prednisone. Sometimes 5 mg is not enough to control the excess of mineralo corticosteroids caused by taking zytiga.

You are welcome. Arrythmias with zytiga may be associated with hypokalemia, most probable the main cause. Ask for electrolytes check.

Some patients (7%) have arrhythmias when taking Zytiga. It is usually not serious, but discuss with your oncologist. He may wish to lower your dose.

If you are newly diagnosed with multiple metastases, it may be beneficial to add docetaxel upfront as well:

I had occasional arrhythmia's before PCa, related to caffeine, but after a few months on Zytiga had an arrhythmia event that felt stronger and longer than anything I'd ever experienced. Add to that, my BP went from 110/70 to 165/98, so after 5 months I dropped Zytiga and stayed on Lupron only, and did fine with that for the remaining 13 months of ADT. Depending on your situation, you may ask your MO about a lower dose.

Hey nuc1111,

My aunt had arrhythmia. I gave her LifExtension CoQ10 which stabilized her heart.

A couple years later he had a fall, broke her hip which was an easy fix but her shoulder was too badly broken to repair. Her shoulder was immobilized and a replacement joint was inserted just below her immobilized shoulder. She recovered from the hip repair but the artificial shoulder joint and fixated shoulder caused her much pain. At 89 years of age and having had quadruple bypass in the past she began failing. My cousin called from the hospital to ask me to come. She was bad. She was hooked up to monitor her vitals and was listed as palliative care. She was too bad to be moved and the hospital was --waiting---. I looked at her heartbeat which was anywhere from 105 to 155 and bouncing. I asked my cousin if she was still taking CoQ10. He told not since she had been in the hospital, rehabbing in a nursing and now as her condition worsened back to the hospital. I had him talk with her doctor about CoQ10. Her doctor prescribed the CoQ10 the hospital uses for her, 2X daily. I brought in some nutrition for her. A couple soft boiled eggs, buttered wheat toast, organic milk and organic whey for a drink. It was easy as my cousin was staying with her, sitting in a chair through the night and had access to a refrigerator. The day passed. She slept and at mid morning check the next day her heart rate had stabilized in the 80's. She was taken off palliative care and a nurse accompanied her. using her walker, down the hall for exercise! She returned to the nursing home for rehab.

I had a sinus flare up. An elderly doc I knew, still practicing at a walk in, that helped me with minor sinus issues informed me that he had a heart attack since I last saw him. he was in his mid 80's. He was surprised as he had a good diet, good stats and exercised. He told me that he had bad arrhythmia after the heart attack. none of the young--to him-- hot shot cCoQ10. He was taking CoQ10 with every meal and before bed. Within a short time his heart stabilized and he was back at work and exercising again! I told him about my aunt. He was able to continue his career until the walk in clinic was sold.

Ask your doctor about CoQ10.

Also, make sure they test your liver enzymes early while on Zytiga. Another side effect of zytiga which causes them to change strengths of Zytiga.

I've heard some have palpitations, however I did not. I have replaced Lupron with a daily pill replacement called Relugolix. It has proved to be much better for many, with fewer side affects, and quicker acting.
