And the number is...

Since my PSA went from undetectable after four years to 0.6 within the past eight months, my MO has ordered a F18 Piflufolastat PET/CT scan Sept. 27. He set 0.5 as the threshold for a scan back in March when my PSA was 0.2. My doubling rate has averaged every two months. Never made peace with the wait, but I'm ready to get back in the ring with this cowardly, hormone sipping snoppygoster.

Curious why that scan. Not that any of them are hugely better than each other

It took several months just to get this one. It is apparently the "go to" favor of the month. Facts and opinions are so blurred today in all things that my normal curiosity is at an all time low.

That is a rather new tracer. Seems to be a brand for the 18F-DCFPyL PSMA tracer.

Thanks for the link. This seems to be easier to manufacture and transport than Ga-68, but that is my opinion based very limited information. When I first met with my MO, I don't think PYL was even available. He said then if I wanted Ga-68, I would have to travel to California or Michigan and pay all out of pocket.

There is very little difference regarding the sensitivity between the tracers. The experience of the doctor analysing the images is more important.

I think you are right.

Good question... I meant Chicago. At one time I could have added Southern humor to my mistake, but those times have apparently passed. Never been to Michigan, but I do love the Windy City.

Nothing with a little southern humor.

It an art form of politeness warped in disdain and polished shiny with accented bs. You simply can't hear my accent online. Lol

All the best 👌

I used to play the number games, but after reading the shared thoughts from some brothers here on rising numbers and so forth, I stay positive by the way my mind and body feels. If I feel good, still look good and love the present, I let my good oncologist worry about my numbers. 😊

There is only so much that I can do… ❤️ I don’t want to be chasing numbers only rainbows, sunshine, rain, snow, love and after my grandchildren … but that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

My very best to you and stay positive and well 🥰

Do take care and stay safe 😷

Hope your Pylarify PET scan produces some positively actionable information for your next phase of treatment. Perhaps Lu-PSMA will be approved soon. 🤞. Get that snoppygoster back in the cage.
