This coming Friday I’ll be receiving my 6th and last LU 177 injection and looking forward to the PSA results. At number 4 my PSA was 0.5. At #5 it was 1.1 so it’ll be interesting to se the number this week. Scans are looking great with no new metastasis and previous metastasis being resolved. Our hope is after this last injection we’ll do a choline PET scan and try to locate any residual lesions and hit them with SBRT.
This treatment has done great things for me with minimal side effects.
I know I still have active disease but for now I’ve beat it back to the point where I played my first round of golf yesterday and felt good doing it. Now it’s time to get ready for a north-woods fishing trip in two weeks.
Stay strong and positive, let’s send this beast packing.

That's so wonderful! I hope fervently that we can get into this study. My husband is newly diagnosed so he has to fail at a first line treatment before we can try, which is maddening.
I was fortunate to get in the study and the results have been wonderful. I know it’s madding that you have to do all the other treatments first but in many cases they work well for many people.
We need as many arrows in the quiver as possible to fight this thing.
Congratulations Jackpine... the PSA can bounce around with PCa cell death....the scan improvement is great news...get the choline PET scan and do the SBRT--great plan.... drive this disease back for many years hopefully... good luck..
I’m only doing the LU177 and Lupron. Zytiga stopped working and Lupron isn’t working either but they wanted me to continue on it till after I’m done with injections
The vision trial only gives you the initial PSMA scan. Since it has not been approved by the FDA, they won't give you another one nor can you pay for one. So, if you really want to see what's happening, you have to get a choline or axium petscan. We have already learned that the Bone and Ct scan's don't show us everything. But for the trial, they only compare Bone and CT.
Good to hear!!! Just read your post to my husband Sam. We are going to meet with a doctor at Jefferson in philly this Wednesday for a consultation for the Lu-177 treatment. Sam has been on chemo every three weeks for seven months and it's starting to fail him. Jack, may I ask where you are getting your treatment?
Love, your commett, let's send this beast packing !!
Never give up and never give in!!! Best wishes and good health.
I receive my treatment at the Mayo in Rochester Mn, as part of a trial. This treatment has worked wonderfully for me. Last fall my PSA was 110 and doubling every month, and bone Mets from my skull to my feet.
I hope your husband can receive this treatment and that he has similar results.
Lol I tried to keep it honest. My first shot cleared the ladies tee by at least 15’. Bad thing is the friend I was playing with shot 79 and it was only his 3rd round of the year.
