Has anyone had an Axumin scan that picked up other things or other cancers beside prostate or prostate metastasis.

Yes. I had one about 3 years ago and my radiation oncologist told me he saw something in my lungs and that I should probably go in for another CT scan specifically for the lungs. It turned out that I also had lung cancer that was not associated with prostate cancer. I had it removed about 11 months ago. I have kidney cancer (removed), prostate cancer (removed) and lung cancer (removed), all independent of each other. Trifecta! If they see something check it out.

Did the Axumin uptake pick it up on lung or the actually scan show something.

Did the axiumin uptake show in the lung or was it the cat scan

Sorry for the late reply. From my understanding, the RO noticed the possible lung cancer from the axiumin uptake. He did not have any other CT or MRI scan at that point. He said I should get one focused on the lung. What they saw first was "ground glass opacities aws" with possible small solid components in the right lung.

I am doing OK right now, with PSA <0.1 taking Lupron and Zytiga. Tried Xtandi, but that was a disaster. I had to stop Zytiga a few weeks ago because of Kidney was going south. They have started me on half dose a week ago, with close monitoring of the liver to see if I can handle it.

The item that worked best was the estrogen patches at .05 twice a week. Helped drop the PSA and shut down the hot flashes! However, when my MO (Dr. Rettig at UCLA and the VA) found out, he made me stop it immediately as I have a blood clotting disorder called Factory V Leiden. He (and one other Hematologist) told me that the patches can cause blood clots, which I was at high risk for. Oh well.

The lung cancer (ground glass opacities) are now also in the left lung. Didn't want to hear that, but they are taking a close monitoring approach as it is small now. They hope it is slow growth.

Other then the asthma, which recently started, it is not too bad. Once this crap covid settles down (I just got my booster shot this week), we plan on doing some traveling.

Travel clears the head. Just back from a month long motorhome trip w wife and 2 Aussies to Great Lakes in Michigan. Promised wife I would lay off the daily research. Mostly I just relaxed and enjoyed the adventure. Hope you can travel soon.
