Blood Test results -3 weeks after 2nd LU-177 infusion

Just got my blood test results done, 3 weeks after my 2nd LU 177 infusion. PSA came down from 4.08 to 0.814. Great improvement. Both Oncologist and Radiologist were happy with the results. I was concerned with both CEA and CA are increasing above the threshold but the oncologist told me not to be worried about it. The WBC, RBC, Liver function, Kidney function, Alk Pho, LDH were all within the range. I will likely do the third infusion of LU 177 on the second week of Sept, two weeks after my second Covid -19 vaccination jab. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. Welcome any comments especially on the increasing CEA and CA markers.

bellyhappy,Great results. Wish you more success. What are your CEA and chromogranin A numbers? Mine are very high.

My CEA was at 16.4 ....on the chromogranin, i could not find it in my test report.

Glad someone is getting good results. Is the standard of care to continue ADT or is that discontinued for the treatment?

Allen, should be concern about the CEA and CA now? Thanks

No. You just inflamed your metastases with radiation and dumped cancer antigen from killed cells into your serum. I don't understand why they were measured.

Good response bellyhappy. My PSA was 18 & went down to 1.6 after the second infusion of LU177 but was not allowed to continue to the third for reasons better known to Genisis Care here in OZ.Good luck with your third go at LU177!

Thanks bro..Why were you not allowed to continue to your third infusion? I was told by my radiologist that i should do at least four infusions.

Yes I was told 4 is the usual amount of infusions also but after 2 they informed me I was finished & I should go through the normal process of ADT & chemo first & then go back to them.I could not tolerate Lupron or casodex which is why I searched further & I think it was a personality clash between me & Dr David Macfarlane MBBS a nuclear Medicine Physician here at Genesis Care. So much for the Duty Of Care oath!

If it is possible to send a copy of the strange reply here I will but in the meantime when travel is permitted again Singapore here I come.

As for CEA, If the rise occurred just during and after LU177 then, you just monitor it and most likely it will be back to normal range. If CEA remains high or keeps rising then, more investigation will be needed.

Hi. Before starting adt on 10/2020, my CEA was 8.6. Now on 7/2021 , it went up to 9. Should I be concerned? What kind of investigation should I do please?

CEA less than 3 ng/ml in Non Smokers and less than 5ng/ml in smokers is considered normal. Many illness can cause increase in CEA and it can get elevated in many types of cancers ..in particular ColoRectal Cancer.

Your CEA is mildly elevated. You should monitor the trend every 2 months and it keep going up.. ask your doctor to find out what is causing this increase.

Thank you. My MO asked me to get a colonoscopy and I did and came back with no cancer. I am not sure what to do about it.

Where are you receiving your infusions?????
