Thigh pain after Lu-177

My husband has been fighting prostate cancer as of 24 years today. He has been quite a warrior and guinea pig in taking almost all therapies thrown his way- Lynparza for only one month left him with lack of sense of smell and taste and loss of appetite. We almost lost him just from that. However, he plowed on and had two Lu-177 injections which were successful. However, after the second Lu-177, he had to have emergency surgery with his port. So, within a few days, Lu-177 and surgery. He apparently had a very bad infection from the port and was in the hospital for a week on antibiotics and was discharged with the antibiotic infusion for home. For about a month, he continued to have nightly fevers and some sort of mental confusion/yelling. I took off from work for a month and with my daughter and her boyfriend we cared for him. He dropped down to 111 pounds and again, we almost lost him. And, again, he got better. However, he is left with a terrible pain in his thighs that comes on at night. Doctors are baffled. It isn't bone but soft tissue and only comes on at night. If he walks it's better. He needs a heating pad at night. This has been going on since the hospital stay. He has gained about 20 pounds. Any Ideas on what this might be?

Holey Toledo zengirl.. he really is a miracle .So are you. I’m sure that you are a huge part of the good in his life . With love we can endure much …. With the recents hellish turns you must be worn out also? 24 yrs of this is a lot a suffering. He’s been a tough cookie . Those heavy antibiotics take a toll on the joints … Please keep yourself up . He need you so . I don’t have medical advice .Just Prayers for mercy .. 🙏😔

zengirl, I cannot imagine anyone going through what you and your husband have gone through - 24 years of hell. I am at 16 and also might be running out of options. My cancer journey has not been anywhere as rough as your husband's. Do you mind telling us how old he is.

He is 77 and incredibly stubborn.

Hang in there middlejoel. By the way, he used to go for chemo alone then drive himself to the casinos with his service dog. He's quite a story.

Zen: I would try some stretching and light exercises. Check YouTube for stretches for the hamstring, groin, piriformus, and IT band. I recommend looking up Dr Joe videos, she is really good.

Only comes on at night. Is it absolutely pain he experiences ?

During my chemo restless leg syndrome was severe. Drove me up the wall.

Came on at night.

I still have it to some degree when sitting on the couch in the evening.

Thankfully not when in bed or not so severe as to keep me awake.

No real ideas but I am at 27 years. Restless legs for many years have been helped by small dose of Clonazepam at night. I am dependent on it for sleep but who cares at this point.
