Can anyone recommend a preferred overnight product (preferably not the full ‘diaper’ depends type…so hot) for my husband? He’s tried several of the pads and is having leaking problems. He’s stage 4 several Mets and has had urinary problems since diagnosis in March. May be a TURP in his near future.
Also, anyone have experiences with TURP they’d mind sharing? We sense the urologist wants to wait til no doubt it should be done, so we are a little worried about it.

I use this product, 3.5 years after surgery. I don't have too many issues now but when I get tired or with certain movements that strain my abdomen there is some leakage.
I had tactile problems with disposables and searched for cotton products. The absorbent pad in the front works perfectly for me, and I find these very comfortable. Just wash and put them back in the underwear drawer.
There are reusable cotton/spandex products with more capacity if needed. I hated plastic underwear.
Another "pro" tip for the very rare daytime issues..... I only wear black or navy slacks or shorts. Wet spots are not as prominent.
My first Urologist (a great guy but moved far away) was completely against a TURP after radiation. He said that healing would be very difficult.
I had a Foley catheter rammed into my prostate and inflated. The doctor was a heartless bitch who did not listen to me when I was screaming. Then they sent me home belleding rpfusely as if that was notmal. I returned to the hospital and was sent to a real hospital. I was nto conscious enough due to extreme pain and later morphine to be able to talk to the emergency urologist so I could not influence any decisions. I probably signed something at some point. The ER urologist did a TURP. Now 3 years later I still have major issues including what is probably scaring at my bladder neck. I have managed to regain the ability to use an intermittent catheter.
I fully understand your Urologist's hesitation to recommend a TURP if you have had radiation treatments.
I like the TENA brand pads (cheaper on Amazon than from the manufacturer), which come in different thicknesses (degrees of absorbency) and are shaped to fit men better than generic pads that also work for women. They have an adhesive strip that attaches (easily) to underwear. Have used them for a long time, but am now scheduled for an AUS.
Had a Turp in Feb 2019. Doc hollowed out the inside of the prostate. Due to numerous catheters before the turp, had a bulbous stricture after the turp that restricted urine flow. A dialation in Apr 2019 solved that problem. No issues since.
Been on Xtandi since Nov 2019. PSA now .29. High in Oct 2016 was 80. 3 Bone mets now but not giving me any trouble.
Cannot complain because I woke up again this morning.
I've had a TURP, surgery and radiation. Of the three, I would pass on the TURP if I had to do it all over. Research the rationale, objectives, side effects, and the doc's experience closely.
TENA products, in my experience, are cooler than Depends, breath, adsorb and are more comfortable. Good luck.
There is a product called Protech Dry that is excellent. They're washable. Do not leak. Look and feel (according to my husband) just like Jockey brand boxers, tighter leg. protechdry.com/en/
Okay, this is perhaps TMI, but I use a combination of pads (Kroger charges $7.99 for 52 of them) plus Depends briefs from Costco. This has prevented about 95% of embarrassing moments when I am walking long distances or doing touring on vacation or traveling.
I have had 2 Turps. Never was incontinent. Weak urine stream, and hematuria led to first Turp. Researched Tur Syndrome. Decided to find a surgeon with 1,000 under his/her belt. Found Dr Paul Young at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Gen anesthesia. 1 night in hospital. Catheter pull at 7am next morning. Allowed home after 3 successful urinations. It works, but its a bit primitive. Street name “Rotor Rooter”. Can be best choice for some. My PCa had bulged into bladder and it freed up room for left ureter, and gave a clean gl=8 biopsy vs traditional 12-15 needle biopsy. Mine took out only about 20% of tumoral mass in prostate.
