Metformin with Casodex
Metformin does not DIRECTLY bolster effect of Casodex. Metformin by itself works by blocking other pathways of cancer growth and works by a totally different mechanism. Both Metformin and Atorvastatin work by different mechanisms and broaden the cancer killing effect .
So far, Metformin has been found to add nothing in randomized clinical trials.
Wondering if others taking Metformin (1000mg) have experienced low energy and appetite, fatigue and lack of motivation. I'm on Mark Scholz's So Cal 'hormonal therapy lite plan' (50mg bicalutamide) and thought my symptoms were due to the hormonal therapy which, by the way, brought my psa down from .93 to .13 in 2 weeks. When I stopped taking Metformin all symptoms disappeared in a matter of a few days.I'm also wondering why there's so much skepticism in some quarters about managing low burden PCa in older men with 50mg bicalutamide.
