Casodex and headaches

Been on casodex for two months and just added trelstar about a month ago. Starting to feel breast pain and getting hot flashes so I’m used to that from prior time. What I don’t remember is if I had these intermittent headaches that move around my head. Anyone have that as an issue? Thanks.

Mike

I’m repeating the same adt so I can’t remember headaches but maybe brain fog is blocking my memory.

I was off of adt since august 2018 so it has been a while ago. With age I know I’m not as up on remembering details like this/ I know headaches are a symptom but I also got a covid first and just recently the second shot.‘Pfizer so headaches are also a symptom of that. Also could be the change in weather in California

Headaches are a common side of Casodex. And also 5% of patients on Trelstar.

Thanks buddy. How are you doing these days?

in reply toMikes21

I'm doing well, thanks. How is everything with you (besides the headaches of course)?

My PSA was rising and went from <0.01 to 0.059 over a half year. I did a little keto and some ROS producing drugs/sups and my PSA went down to 0.027. Just got the result today.NIH sets a threshold of 0.03. Above, not as good as below. So I went from above to blow.

Forgot to mention I had a moderate cancer colon polyp and the gastro guy thinks he got it out and said 95% sure but can’t guarantee it. Anyway we are doing colonoscopy next month to check it. Prayers please that he got it all. Otherwise may need resection of colon. It was a flat polyp and I asked my oncologist if maybe my psa was going up due to that and she said there wasn’t a correlation. Doesn’t help that my dad died of colon cancer at 52 so I’m hoping the yearly colonoscopy is early detection. I did genetic testing and of course I have Lynch syndrome which is notorious for colon cancer and I read sometimes prostate. Not totally sure on that. Anyway I am keeping all of my checks up. Hope you and the Mrs are doing well!

That’s a good thing and a God thing. It was 5 years ago today when I had my prostate taken out. I’m glad to still be here with family and friends. Stay safe and talk to you soon!

The headaches could be caused by either drug. Drugs affect everyone differently.

Yes Mike, headaches came with the casodex for me also & was going to have an operation to have man boobs removed. The solution for me was not to take it.

Thanks Aries. Yeah it is weird that I was doing fine but now I’m noticing all the side effects kicking in. I read that my hot flashes may be causing the headaches too. I also think I need to drink more water to offset the morning coffee thus I may be dehydrated. Take care and be well!

The coffee thing is interesting, I like it strong & black in the morning & it can not be doing much good but it does dissolve a headache I found. Headache or hangover?

I get headaches from Xtandi, it’s big brother, to the point that I’m taking a maintenance dose of Celebrex prescribed by my PCa specialist. Helps quite a bit with body aches and pains from long term ADT use as well.

Casodex made me have headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, inability to drink. I just moved from the bedroom to the recliner, and back. I'm sure reactions are different for individuals, but I also got those headaches. I quit after 17 days. Now on Zytiga and prednisone. No side effects yet.

headaches from dental causes are so damn frequent for so many people. also dehydration... i drink 20oz of water (with a dash of juice) when i first get out of bed... then another 40 oz over the day until going to sleep. Only get headaches when I need teeth deep-cleaned.
