Casodex and high PSA

I have gone through most of usual suspects of treatments (including all listed in the MDAnderson standard protocol for all stages) the last being NUBEQA which just last week left me with a PSA of 130. My problem is extensive lymph node metastasis.

Will Casodex work on this and at what level? Does 150mg have dangerous side effects?

Tks.

Everyone reacts differently to drugs. Casodex may indeed work for you. Casodex has the least side effects of all ADT drugs. It worked for me for 5 years.

50 per day? Or?

If I recall correctly I took 50 mg daily.

Actually, estradiol has the least side effects of any testosterone reduction treatment.

If you've tried Xtandi already, there is no point trying a weaker anti-androgen like Casodex. Casodex can actually feed the mutated androgen receptor. "Bicalutamide withdrawal syndrome" occurs in men who have been taking Casodex, but then PSA goes down when Casodex is stopped.

Estrogen patches sometimes work as a harmonal therapy when others fail.

Should PSA go down when you stop both Casodex and Lupron at the same time?

No- In mCRPC, PSA will increase more from stopping Lupron than it decreases from stopping Casodex

I don't understand, sorry. Why would you stop ADT for mHSPC?

For intermittant ADT

So you were using Casodex for iADT, and your PSA went down when you stopped using it?

I have done to PSA testing after stopping. I am just curious to know whether my PSA can still go down?

Casodex Withdrawal works about 20%. I was fortunate to to experience that in 2005 after nine months of Casodex.

Gourd dancer. I’ve read that the withdrawal response is experienced by closer to 50%.

Go for it, I used a generic Casodex, 100 mg - because my problem was not so severe - and my PSA dropped within a month to 0.04. I must admit I also threw a lot of Coartem down my throat at that time. And I started with moringa piwder too.

The chance are very good that you will have good results. And remember the Kessar . To keep the boobies down.

Sorry, missed something. Must agree with Tim Allen. But if you haven't been on Xtandi, Casodex is a good option.

I use 150 mg once a day plus metformin to enhance casodex.

I have had 99% reduction on casodex 150mg reduction for 2 1/2 years starting from PSA12.2 with met in hip and many pelvic lymph nodes; went down to 0.015; now rising with 5 month doubling time at 0.045. Adding more supplements to fight cancer. Waiting until the Doubling time shortens to less than two months before stopping to stop Casodex and hope for Casodex with drawl to kick in ? Pedro Luna
