It seems I have a calcium deposit on the location of the suture that reattached my urethra to my bladder sphincter during my RP nearly four years ago. Now I need a procedure to remove the calcium buildup as it's interfering with my sphincter and causing occasional leakage. Lately I've been having a dull ache inside me so I think the issue is getting worse. Has anyone else dealt with this? It looks like I need to schedule the surgery and it is making me a bit nervous as I don't want to lose muscle control and end up incontinent. Thanks!

Has anyone gotten a bladder stone after RP?
Thanks Nakakrats…a good question to ask my urologist!
I was going to suggest the same. I know they do ultrasonic ablation for kidney stones some of which are calcium based so ??? remember that Urologists are surgeons and want to fix everything with surgery. Mine wanted to do another TURP on me because of bladder neck scaring. I fixed it with caster oil but I don't think that would work on a calcium deposit. Definitely ask about trying ultrasonic ablation first. Might want to get a second opinion if your Uro says no. There may be a very good reason to not try it but nothing I can think of? Ask a doctor or two.
I have had bladder stones generated on and of for the past 6 years after my RP. Like Nalakrats has recommended ultra sound treatment works. I have had ultra sound treatment 3 times and the pain immediately ceased. The ultra sound tech turned the machine upside down to get the critical area. He also placed a cat in me to help spot the area.
Thanks Gary! I just dropped a note to my 'other' urologist that did my previous lithotripsy to see what his opinion is. We'll see if he gets back to me...for free instead of a consult!
