Still having this discomfort in my throat my oncologist assured me the recent scan 9 weeks ago MRI showed nothing unusual

I have had a course of antibiotics

They also did a throat swab that revealed nothing and given a spray

Booked to see Ear Nose and Throat specialists 4 months ago

Still waiting for a date

Stopped smoking all together 2 months ago

This is really bothering me

Praying its not cancer my oncologist seems convinced its not as he said the scan showed nothing unusual

Has anyone had a similar experience

I really need guidance here .

HELP

Dam good job stopping the cancer sticks big guy! I can’t imagine how hard that is . Hopefully your body is regenerating some by stopping .? I’ve been a strep carrier since early childhood . If anyone has it around me I WILL get it too. Years of antibiotics abuse I’ve had . I hope the neck is nothing . Early on I would think every pain I had could be a met. Thankfully for me not yet . I pray the same for you . Take care ..🏋🏽‍♂️🙏

FN pc treatments are a mad-hatters ride.. all in all you’re doing pretty well I think? Any pain or weird stuff going on after or during this ride don’t surprise me. Keep a doctors close eye on your neck if it persist. My friend cured himself from a stage 4 nasty through and neck cancer. He went to Vargas clinic in TJ .. We prayed over this dude. Amazing he survived. He was a long time smoker Coker he even chewed tabacky . It’s scary stuff that you don’t want either. I’ve got aches and pains but no to the point of pain meds yet. That’s a blessing. Keep pumping 🏋🏻‍♂️

Trust the doc . 🤙🏽

Google globus. I've had this. A feeling that you've constantly got something stuck in your throat. Mine was caused by excess stomach acid that I wasn't even aware of. Acid was entering my throat in the night and damaging the inner parts. Then I woke up and had no idea why I have a feeling of something stuck in my throat. Drove me nuts. I now take an omeprozole tablet every morning and feel much better. I think the acidity was partially caused by the PC drugs. I hope that helps. Lots of advice online about this.

Sounds exactly like what I am experiencing

Or papaya enzymes might help? Could be diet or what you’re eating if it’s digestion?

Yeah--I've been to an ENT who said "nothing worth biopsying". Started fairly suddenly about 18 months ago. Interestingly, both of my brothers have had similar situations. Look up "laryngopharyngeal reflux"--I've had boilerplate therapy for GERD, though I've not had pain--diet, raising head of my bed, PPIs, H2 blockers--none really worked. There are some alternative treatments--deglycyrrhizinated licorice losenges, slippery elm losenges. They help a bit. Even went for an EGD. Slightly more effective for me has been Gaviscon Advance tablets (comes as a liquid too)--with the "SECRET INGREDIENT"--sodium alginate. Made in the UK, apparently not in the U.S., but easy enough to find on Amazon. Cheap enough to try, so long as your docs have eliminated anything ominous.

I see you're in the UK, so finding Gaviscon Advance shouldn't be a problem for you. 4 months for an appointment? Make some noise--that's unacceptable. At a minimum, you should have a laryngoscopy by an ENT.

Like you, I was prescribed antibiotics to start with. They were of course useless because it's not an infection. It's just a sensation. There is no blockage and no lump.

I once had a throat lump that the ear, nose and throat doctor told me was stress. Thought i had cancer or something. Apparently quite common. Gave me xanax for the cure. Took an extra prescription but it went away. Who knows

Yes, I have had those stress reactions as well- anxiety induced

I dealt with anxiety years ago- it was all in my throat. Came and went - had trouble swallowing but that passed too.GP did test and came to the conclusion it was as panic attacks

Have friend who recently had earache which primary doc "practiced medicine" on for months. The pain finally got him hooked up with ENT who ran a camera down his throat (NOT a scan) and within 10 minutes told him he had a major tumor at the base of his toungu

e which was pushing on nerves giving him the earache. After much chemo and radiation he's doing ok, but his ENT said one more week and he'd been toast. Get to an ENT NOW or go to good emergency room and tell them whatever they need to hear to take action.

I developed throat soreness a few months back and saw my ENT doctor who scoped me up the nose and back down the throat. They said everything looked fine and it was most likely related to local allergy causing excessive mucous. I guess it's too much nose rubbing on my feline daughter, LaFanga. She sleeps next to my wife and I in her Martha Stuart mattress so they think it's pet dander. Best to scope it, good luck with it resolving normally🤙

I have been through something exactly similar and was convinced that there was something at the base of my throat though the PET scan showed nothing of concern. Underwent a endoscopy and the final conclusion was that it was GERD or Acid Reflux and taking a daily tablet of Pantoprazole DSR early morning on an empty stomach has done much to do away with the sensation.

You can give OTC Omeprazole a try while waiting to get in with the ENT. GERD is very common cause of throat irritation. Congratulations on quitting smoking. That is an awesome accomplishment. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I had globus sensation which felt like a pill stuck in my throat. I was constantly trying to clear my throat. A gastroenterologist finally diagnosed it after endoscopy. It came from GERD which was irritating my esophagus and went away when I was prescribed a protonic. Could you get an appointment with a GI doctor since you've had no luck with an ENT? Congratulations on quitting smoking--supposed to be harder to kick than hard drugs.
