I was G7 (3+4). Initially had surgery, 18 months later BCR, started at 0.17 and moved to 0.29 within 3 months. Went on ADT for 7 months (Firmagon) and had 40 radiation treatments.

Coming up on 3 yrs this June, PSA every 6 months, so far so good, undetectable PSA. Long term who knows, but as of today it is good

I was a Gleason 4+3 17 years ago. My post-RP PSA was 0.3 & I opted for salvage radiation [SR]. PSA dropped from 0.8 back to 0.3, but rose again to 0.8 three months later. Back to square one. What did it achieve?

Of course, SR monotherapy is not performed with curative intent. It's aggressive & buys time for some. Overall, I think it worthwhile when one has Gleason Number 4 cells. Of course, after 17 years it is tempting to look back at all decisions as having been correct.

Here's an old Johns Hopkins study on SR statistics: [1],

"toy ischemia"?

I meant to say ischium, the large bone in the posterior from the hip.

Thanks-- I probably should have been able to figure that out for myself.

I know several men who have. After the salvage radiation there is no longer any need for an ultrasensitive PSA test. There is nothing you would do differently if your PSA is 0.05 or 0.1.

Thank you

Ultra sensitive Could be of use if one is tracking psa doubling time

No, it isn't. PSA doubling time is only defined for values above 0.1. It is meaningless for lower values.

My history:2002, Gleason 6 (3+3) PSA level below 10, and LDR Brachytherapy.

2006 biochemical recurrence and salvage radiotherapy 45Gy to the lymph nodes of the abdominal cavity only, and Casodex 150mg x 1 approx. 3 years, PSA level 0,6 all the time until 2018 where it increases to about 2.xx. Imaging tests (PSMA 68Gall + scintigraphy) showed nothing ??? Then again Bicalutamide 150 x 1 (and Atorvastatin 80mg x 1 clinical trial) + some dietary supplements. PSA level currently below zero (fluctuating).
