After taking Lynparza for a few months my appetite is gone and I've lost 56 pounds. Sometimes I can't even stand to smell or look at food. Docs gave me meds to boost my appetite but they don't work too well. Also have pills for Nausea/vomiting that work so so.
I'm wondering if my appetite will ever get back to normal or did the Lynparza mess it up for good. I've been off Lynparza for 3 months now.

I don't know the answer to your question but it sounds like you're going through a horrible experience.
Searching Google for "what to do for loss of appetite" I found many web pages, some of them by doctors who specialize in digestive problems. Perhaps you can get a referral to a specialist who can diagnose the cause of your problem and help you. Maybe there are treatments you haven't known about or tried yet that can help. Maybe simple approaches like cannabis or baby food can help.
I hope you can climb out of the hole that you've fallen into.
This is an aside and maybe a possible benefit of no apatite. You are also starving the cancer and weakening it. Might be a good time to look into a killing treatment like IV Vitamin C. Google starving cancer.
You lost 56 pounds while taking Lynparza for a few months, wow, losing weight at this rate is a concern. Is your appetite improving, what's your doctor doing to regain diet normalcy?
When I was going through chemo, I was the same. The only things I could handle were potatoes and gravy. Lots of salt. And pie with ice cream. Just saying. Oh and pink lemonade 🤣🤣🤣. Keep up the fight warrior 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes but slowly as I got rested up I started gaining due to the ADT treatment I think. Now I’m 20 pounds heavier than I have ever been. I never really cared for lots of sweets now I have them around all the time and hooked on a bowl of ice cream before bed 🤪🤪🤪
Larry_dammit, please step away from the ice cream. Two scoops occasionally is cool . I am concerned about that 20 lbs on your heart. I’ve always loved sugar. Tonight we’re getting a slice of true cheese cake for a birthday . Once in awhile we can cheat. Be well.🍦
5’9” and 185. Would love to drop 10 pounds but my doctor is happy with my weight and condition. Besides I gave up alcohol and tobacco not to mention sex. What’s a man got to live for 🤪🤪🤪🤪
I started Xtandi in late October. By early December, I had developed a case of diarrhea which lasted four weeks, then my appetite dropped and I am still having that problem here in March. The Xtandi was not working, so I am now on Casodex along with my Lupron and Xgeva shots. I am also taking pain meds for pelvic bone pain, which I am now getting radiated. So I have a lot of meds and stuff producing side effects. I have been lucky to have only lost 15-18 lbs. But I'm a thin guy to start. I have gotten plenty of advice to improve appetite and get in needed nutrition. I am pretty good in the morning, but by evening, I feel like you about food. Dronabinol makes me high but I does not seem to improve my appetite. They say it takes a while to kick in, but I am wondering if its my slight nausea and gagging at the thought of food that should be addressed another way. Hang in there. This is a tough fight.
I’m in a similar situation as I’ve 55lbs in the last year mostly water weight from getting off of prednisone. I still do not have much of and appetite but I look for any food, fruit, veggi or meat that sounds good for a few minutes. I just graze on what tastes god throughout the day.
Although I don't take any medication, with the exception of Metformin, at the moment, I haven't had much of an appetite for almost a year. I take a lot of supplements and don't eat my first meal until fourteen hours after my last one (dinner). What may be easier for you to stomach are shakes--at least three each day containing a high protein mix, peanut butter, cacao and blueberries and anything else you can think of adding. If you exercise, limit it to a morning walk before breakfast. I don't do it because I don't have a weight problem, a shake before bed might also be useful. My wife who usually does the cooking is a good sport and will usually try to accommodate by meal requests is frustrated as hell with the situation! However, you might try experimenting with takeout: a bagel, cream cheese and lox sandwich will yield 420 calories, if you can get it down; chow mein (Panda Express) yields 450 calories. The shakes plus whatever you can actually eat might do the trick. Good luck.
