Urinating night 5-6 times could be due to increase in size of prostate gland or in blood sugar level. Go for USG abdomen and blood sugar test
Increased urination in night. - Advanced Prostate...
Increased urination in night.
Can be due to BOTH. Urination up to 2 to 3 times in night can be considered normal in men.
You may have a urinary tract infection. See your urologist.
It could be? I do the same myself for five years of the same .. have a urologist check you . ? Abnormal peeing is normal for APC , unfortunately . I still have a radiated prostate Good luck .
Yes. Check your urine retention. Easy process at the hospital. non invasive.I ended up severley ill with 800mls of urine taken from my bladder. didnt eat for 3 months. went into emergency at hospital . Kiudney damage. GFR was 10. Glomerular Flow rate. Get that checked with a blood test. Should be 90 or above. Yes bprostate can swell and restrict urine flow. Get a measuring jug and check amount coming out and write it down. If it isnt much then urine retention.
Not a simple issue in my experience.
I've been waking up to urinate every 2 hours for the past ten years. Have had all the tests, and seen more urologists than I care to count. No easy answers.
Had a TURP, but the issue remained. Unexpected 'benefit', prostate cancer discovered,
Had surgery, prostate gone, still urinating every 2 hours, and Persistent PSA up to 0.054 within 4 months. Upon scan, one inch tumor on my prostate wall.
Off to SRT, 39 fractions @ 1.8 Gy per fraction. Six months of Lupron and Casodex. Total 70.2 Gy to the prostate bed. PSA has bounced around 0.034 and 0.112 ever since (almost three years) and yup, still urinating every 2 hours, around the clock.
Until the last month I had no problem falling back asleep, but now it takes me an hour to get back to sleep....if I'm lucky.
So be patient, relaxation techniques, no caffeine, lots of helpful hints, and good luck!
I had an ultrasound scan which showed my prostate to be twice as big as it should be. I was also peeing 3-5 times a night and it was a damned trickle. I read an article on Pubmed that showed people taking Pygeum reduced the size of their prostate. I also read another article about Beta Sitosterol. I can now hear my pee hit the water (not as strong as it used to be but a huge improvement on the trickle) and I now have one to no pees during the night. Only took 4-6 weeks to show a noticeable improvement.Waiting for my doc to get back from holidays to go for another ultrasound.
Hi Getz. How much pygeum did you take please. I have some pygeum husk or powder in the cupboard.
I have the NusaPure Pygeum Bark 4500mg which I bought off Amazon. Can;t remember how much. I take 2 capsules daily (which is 9000mg or double the serve) along with 2 capsules of Beta-Sitosterol (400 mg) which I bought from iHerb. I know the Pygeum is a double dose but peeing so often particularly through the night was a real pain and interfered with my sleep.
Good luck.
The Beta Sisterol is a prime ingredient in Prostogenics, a recommended prostate size reducer

I can't help but wonder if this isn't an unsolvable issue in many cases. I started having to get up and pee multiple times nightly clear back in my mid-40s, had numerous tests but nothing conclusive. Since a biopsy 16 years ago then brachy the next year then another biopsy 6+ years ago, my usual routine is 4-5 times an a good night, 6-8 on a bad one. Used to disturb my sleep, but I've gotten so used to it, I barely even wake up now and hit sleepland again immediately after. It IS annoying and irritating at times, though.
