Covid19 vaccines and prostate cancer —amended

My point about Covid19 vaccination during chemo, is that it may provide a false sense of security. As vaccines do not work well while a person is on drugs that impair immune function.

If you are currently doing chemotherapy (not to be confused with hormone therapy), then, the chances of you developing a meaningful immune response (which is the mechanism by which a vaccine is effective) is very low to nil. And it’s Highly likely that the vaccine will need to be repeated 6 months after one concludes chemotherapy.

If you decide to get a vaccine during chemo you’d be wise to take prevention measures (wear a mask/ wash hands/ avoid crowds) as if you hadn’t been vaccinated.

Being on Lupron like meds and/or Anti Androgens like bicalutamide itself reduces risk of severe Covid19. And if Vit D3+K2 and Ionic Zinc is taken daily. .the risk of severe Covid19goes down even further.

True and good point.

Do the drugs and vitamins you listed prevent a person from spreading the virus?

Dachshundlove in reply to

What prevents people from spreading a virus which spreads by respiratory droplets is wearing a mask. Even after resolved illness or vaccination (implying immunity) mask wearing is recommended. Infection spread can be driven by asymptomatic people. People exposed to Covid19 can not get sick themselves while unwittingly infecting others. It’s one characteristic that has made this virus such a menace.

I think most people know that, but thanks for reminding us.

Me and my wife started Ionic Zinc, Quercetin, Vit D3+K2, Vit C ,Ginger, Black pepper, Turmeric ...when the pandemic started. We were afraid being in high risk profession. My wife did get Covid 19 in May2020 but the symptoms were very mild and she fully recovered in 48 hours.I had Coronovirus Antigen Positive around same time and had only sore throat for two days. I presume that the concoction helped both of us . Now after a year of pandemic ,there are dozens of research studies which agree that these things do help to keep symptoms of Covid19 mild and may even prevent getting infection in some people. However, both of us have received Pfizer vaccine in january2021.

LearnAll, thanks for your post. My question is, after recovering from Covid -19, have you noticed any decrease or increase in PSA levels? Did you notice any decrease or increase in PSA?

LearnAll profile image
LearnAll in reply to donits

No change in PSA due to Covid19 vaccine, But after dew days of vaccine some fall in lymphocyte count and fall in platelets was notice. These drops may be due to Covid19 or my eating a lot of Jalopeno, Longhorn and cayenne pepper, I am getting addicted to fresh raw peppers.

I had not heard of Longhorn peppers before. I love the Jalapeno boats, but that is mostly cream cheese filler which I guess many avoid. Sliced or diced raw peppers in a salad give it a nice kick.

I am a Covid long-hauler. After a few months, my PSA climbed from <0.1 up to 9.6. PET/CT/Axumin scan found a few mets after 4 years of remission from non-metastatic PC (2 years with no treatment). Maybe Covid unlocked the door and let what was left of the PC out. It's only speculation and maybe a curious coincidence but ...

TheTopBanana, Thanks for your post. If this is what you write, maybe there is some benefit from Vit D3, C and various spices. e.g. black pepper, turmeric, etc...BTW, What`s new in your country, some new clinical trials maybe?

With clinical studies I am following RhoVac, and my father talked Today about this, also Swedish: oxcia.se/about/

I got my first covid shot last month and my PSA was undetectable. I get my second shot today. I might try to sneak in a 3rd shot. D3, K2, zink and cacao every morning.

You are likely very good with 2 shots. But with emerging resistant strains there will likely be a modified booster to deal with this. Quite likely by year’s end. The new normal.

How can you establish that it was Covid19 shot which got your PSA to undetectable ???

I'm far from worried if I ever get it, but with cancer, I'm tired of my life getting fucked with pardon my language so I'll be getting it. Plus I have a woman back in Thailand I want to marry and bring to America. Nor sure if that'll happen with no shot.

It will be difficult to fly over there if I do have to wear a mask the entire time on the flight because I have claustrophobia wearing the mask. I am still skeptical about the effectiveness of the masks when people who tell us we need to wear one don't take it seriously themselves. Plus most people I see either aren't wearing it right or they're constantly messing with it.

Also I think it was stupid to put out news that people should be wearing two or three masks even after their shot. You've just created learned helplessness and people are guaranteed to say, "Why even bother?"

If I have to, I I generally wear a face shield. At the hospital I will have to wear a mask. That's about it.

I'm not saying that to be a "tough guy," it's just that the last thing I want to do with a compromised immune system is to make it more compromised by living in a bubble.

Start another round of Chemo tomorrow, my Oncologist said nothing about the vaccine and I forgot to ask. I'm fairly isolated in the countryside and if I do need to go shopping I do it 8am when less people around. My Wife is still working and Kids at School so I can't protect from everything. If I get Covid I'll deal with it as it happens.

The rumor is, once you're vaccinated with the covid vaccine you'll never be able to pronounce this village's name located in Wales: (so be prepared)

Llanhyfryddawelllehynafolybarcudprindanfygythiadtrienusyrhafnauole.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Have you ever had an epidural steroid injection for pain? You're mention having pain when you first logged on here 3 years ago.

What about: A pain medicine specialist is a medical or osteopathic doctor who treats pain caused by disease, disorder, or trauma? Although called pain medicine or interventional pain management specialists, many of these doctors are anesthesiologists or physiatrists.
