I’ll be brief with my history.

9-04. Diagnosed with prostate cancer. 3+3 10-04 robotic surgery, no positive margins and the lymph nodes were clear

April 07 PSA started to rise so urologist referred me for EBRT to the prostate bed.

Watched the rise for 16 years and now I’ve been diagnosed with bone Mets in my right hip and ribs 8,9,10. None in major organs.

I just stared Firmagon injections and Xtandi. What is confusing is my PSA is .8. Any ideas?

BTW...the .8 was before I started treatment.

I would confirm the bone scan with an Axumin scan. If the bone scan was wrong for whatever reason, you take Lupron plus Xtandi without any need for it. Why did you get a bone scan at a PSA value of 0.8 ng/ml at all? Usually you need a PSA value above 10.0 to get a valid bone scan.

I was following my urologists recommendation. I found it odd, but finding the Mets in my ribs I feel was worth it. That is why I am here...

With metastases to the bone you are in the right forum. Still, bone mets with a PSA value of 0.8 ng/ml are so odd, you need to get these confirmed. I would not believe these findings otherwise. Do not just take these drugs for the rest of your life, get a second opinion.

Yes, there is tumor which expresses very low PSA values but this is very rare. I'd rather doubt the bone scan results.

Sometimes a low PSA subtype evolves and takes over. If any of those metastases are big enough and in a convenient location, you might want to get a biopsy.

If you repeat the story again, does that double the odds for the outcome?

Hi Nalakrats, I'm fairly new to the PCa beast and this forum and truly appreciate the valuable and trusted information you and others you mentioned have provided. I read / research a new prostate cancer related paper/article every week and often ones you and others have already assembled links to or mentioned here.... I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you! Please don't give up on us newbie brothers.
