Thank you

I normally wouldn't consider a chiropractor but in this situation it might be a viable option. If you can get to a good one who really knows their stuff, they can help resolve back issues. That and a tens unit can help with the pain. Probably will need 4-5 visits to the chiropractor but that's cheaper right now than going the medical route. Insurance usually picks up chiropractor visits.

Hold on kind sir.

You probably have metastic cancer in your back.

Stop doing any kind of lifting. You have a very delicate back now.

I went to a Chiropractor for a similar issue, and fortunately he was smart enough to say no, he can not treat me. Be very afraid if a chiropractor starts doing adjustments, this is a very dangerous idea.

If he can help you with a gentle massage, yes that may be a good idea.

I made the assumption that after the x-rays and scans metastases was ruled out. I did preface that the chiropractor needed to be good. Not all back pain is due from metastases and given his history of weight lifting it is reasonable to think its just a normal strained back.

Suggest getting a L-S spine MRI with gadolinium contrast and then consulting a neurosurgeon. Of it is from degeneration and not from cancer, such as nerve root impingement they can relieve it immediately with epidural steroid inject then plan a surgical fix. I’m in the same situation. L2-3 root impingement. The epidural shot 3 days ago was pure magic. Another possibility is radiation induced lumbosacral plexopathy (late onset). Much more difficult to manage. Good luck.

Ask your doc if you can get an an epidural injection which is an injection of medication into the space around the spinal cord, also known as the epidural space, to provide temporary or prolonged relief from pain or inflammation. The epidural space is the outermost part of the spinal canal.

It helped with my pain for approximately six months.
