I am currently having a monthly Zoladex shot, thinking that a 3-month shot will bring more side effects with its heavy dose. The monthly shot could bring more effectiveness as its dose is evenly spread out causing less side effects.

Which is better for effectiveness -- A monthly Zoladex shot or a 3-month shot?
It doesn't work that way. It's a depot injection that gets absorbed at an even rate. If you get a 6 month shot, it's only 2 trips to the doctor per year.
I can't speak about the effectiveness of monthly vs 3 monthly, but I suspect they would be the same.
However, in early 2017 I chose the monthly zoladex shots over the 3 monthly due to my concerns about the side effects.
I thought I might not have to wait as long for side effects to wear off if I decided to stop the monthly shots.
After only 2 of the monthly shots I decided to stop due to side effects and haven't had any since.
I get a 6 month Eliguard shot no noticeable side effects the last couple of years.
I always took the 3 month injection as it corresponded with quarterly blood work. In actuality it dissent matter duration of time in that dosage is designed to spread our evenly during the time period.

My husband and I had the same thought, that one month of Zoladex would be less reactive than the 3 month. My husband got the first one month in Nov., but got the 3 month shot on Dec. 31st. So far so good, with only a few hot flashes with the one month and nothing yet from the shot on last Thursday. I took some time to read the product insert and there's some good info on the release of the drug and the difference between the one month (3.6mg) and the 3 month (10.8 mg) in men who were given 3 month doses, then a 3 month dose. Very late comment, but our urologist commented that in their observstion/experience, the 3month shots were more effective, no mention about the side effects
