What is the cost of xgeva
They should both be covered by Part B of Medicare. If you have a Medicare Supplemental Plan, that will cover the co-pay.
They bill my insurance about $7000 which ends up paying about $4000. What happens to the $3000? Written off as a deduction on the hospital income taxes at the end of the year? I don't know. Wish I could just pay half of my bills.
How long have you been taking it and any side effects ?
Almost 4 years now, since March 2017. A shot in the belly fat, so not much of an issue. I don't know that I have any side effects from Xgeva. My side effects can just as well be blamed on Lupron or Xtandi or a couple of other prescriptions. About a year ago, I was switched from every month, to every 3 months. My Oncologist famously said, "this is so your teeth don't fall out." I do cherish that moment.
I am on Lupron 3 years, now added abritone this month, start the xgeva this month, I take D3 supplements and calcium supplements, research suggests that you need the vitamin D.
I have extensive bone mets. T12 compression fracture from getting up off the couch. Dr. suggested D3. Have not had a bone density test. Everything pretty stable right now. After chemo, 3 years of Xtandi has me at <0.1 (Lupron also. They gave me 6 month Eligard shot last Wed. because of Lupron shortage. In the belly fat. Much better than in the hip muscle.)
