What’s the average time to get scans, biopsy’s, and come up with a cancer treatment option? Since symptoms have occurred we’ve been doing tests and biopsy and scans and it’s been almost 3 months and still don’t have a concrete plan when to begin chemo is. Is this normal ?

How long does getting a cancer treatment plan take??
Contact Dr Beltran at Dana Farber
That is a long time for a doctor to act. I would call him/her. If you still don't get a response, find a new doctor.
Took me about 3 weeks from meeting MO.
Tests done really fast and on treatment in about 3 weeks
I started ADT the day of dx. From there my treatment plan evolved as I researched additional treatment options and enlisted my medical team that would help guide and formulate my individual treatment plan along the way.

I was diagnosed in May and began ADT in Sept. My PSA dropped from 33 to 2.73 in two months after being on Firmagone. With such a response I have wondered why I was not advised to go on ADT immediately to buy time for the decision making process. I would recommend that you request ADT ASAP. If you have symptoms you will be going down that path anyway.
Yes you need a small cell expert oncologist for him such as Tall Allen suggested for prompt treatment. Good luck.
Definitely contact Dr.Beltran. She did wonders for my friend who has small cell carcinoma...he is now in remission after about 9 months of various treatment protocols, scans and other tests. She will handle a PCa patient either in person or by televideo etc. Good luck!
What's your location? Then someone here could provide local Prostate Cancer Oncologist recommendations. Have you contacted Dr Beltran, Dana Farber, Boston MA?
